So I decided that each month, I'm going to try to introduce something new to Wintreath. If they're things met with positive reception, then they'll be incorporated in a continuous cycle like Werewolf and Spyfall are. I don't want to introduce too many new things at once, since we still have our current games happening as well.
Here's my plan for the rest of 2015:
April is the introduction month for Clue, to see how people enjoy it and whether it should be a continuous game. Like Werewolf, Clue isn't confined to a specific theme like the generic one that the first game is taking. While the gameplay is essentially always the same, the theme, rooms, weapons, and characters can always be different to make it unique.
May, I'm considering introducing
Resistance, a favorite of mine from XKI. It's a game that can go between having an endless player list, to having a set amount to make the game go quicker, but considering the positive feedback that we've gotten from Spyfall and Werewolf, I think Resistance would make an excellent fit here.
June is going to be a lighter month since I imagine many will be quite busy with finishing school around this time. So I'll be introducing
20 questions since it'll require little effort on both sides.
July will be the month for the
Wintreath Wars; Wintreath's first Team vs. Team game to hit Wintreath. What is it going to be like exactly? You'll find out soon!
Hopefully by
August/September, we'll have a stable currency on Wintreath, and I plan on introducing the contests listed, so those two months will be the
Month of the Contest months.
October, in recognition of it being the month of Halloween, I'm going to introduce
And Then there were None...which I'm hoping will prove to be a game that'll keep people on their toes a bit. When the time comes a bit closer, I'll give an idea of what it's about.
November, in recognition of National Novel Writing Month (as well as my birthday
), I'm going to introduce the
Choose Your Own Adventure game. The reason I'm waiting this long is specifically because of Nanowrimo being the ideal time to have it take off, and because CYOA is going to be an exceptionally comprehensive type of game (at least on my end for the write-ups) that'll need to be written up very far in advance...at least for the first game until the kinks are all worked out.
December is going to be a special month because of Christmas, and I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of Christmas themed things happening here, so I won't be introducing any new games (but possibly new contests) during this time.
