1) The Avatar Theme of the Month Contest for November has ended, and the selected theme is...ponies! Everyone with a forum account is encouraged to adopt a pony avatar this month in a show of regional unity!

2) A Royal Wedding has been announced between our Monarch, Wintermoot, and Insenjar, to take place on Wednesday! That's right, Wintreath will have a Queen Consort shortly, and this should be an event to remember. 3) The Regional Flag Contest is continuing, and will remain open until Friday, November 8th! After this time, all submitted flags will come up to a vote of all Citizens, and the winning flag will become the first flag of our region! Interested in submitting a flag for consideration? 4) Wintreath successfully established relations with three regions: Republics of Crawlspace, The Allied Republics, and The Rejected Realms. Republics of Crawlspace is a new, small region founded by our very own Denth Rowan, who also serves as Jarl of Defense. The Allied Republics has long been known as a friendly political region, and The Rejected Realms, besides being one of the five sinkers in the game, also hosts a defender military which we hope to be able to cooperate with in the future. We look forward to developing relations with all three regions in the future!

5) Our regional military, the Hvitt Riddaral, is up and running, thanks to our Jarl of Defense, Denth Rowan and our Field Marshal, The Saturnian Republic II. In the future, our military will assist in the preservation of native rights in other regions, and protect them from those forces that would do them harm. Interested in joining up? 6) Curious to know how the World Assembly works and what your role in it is? Our Monarch, Wintermoot, has created a course on the World Assembly. It starts at the basics, introducing the World Assembly, discussing it's parts, and going into detail about what it means to endorse somebody. From there more advanced topics are discussed, like the Delegacy and the rules and processes for drafting World Assembly proposals. Issue 2 - November 13th, 2013 / Current Regional Population: 249

1) A Constitutional Convention has started in the region's off-site forums, with the goal of creating a permanent regional government by the end of the month. Topics have opened on discussing the makeup of a future legislature, with more topics to come. 2) Wintreath's first official cultural activity, The Exchange, is now open! Thought of and created by Crya, The Exchange serves as a local economics and trade national roleplay that should be more close-knit and welcoming than the equivalent NationStates forums. 3) Voting in Wintreath's Flag Contest has begun! We received a number of excellent submissions, which are now being put before the Citizens of the region for a vote. 5) The World Assembly has been very active, with voting taking place on four resolutions within our forums. Out of the four votes, one has passed, one was withdrawn from the author, and two are still being voted on. Interested in getting involved with our discussions and votes regarding the World Assembly? 6) Wintreath as established relations with a number of regions during the past week. The North Pacific is the largest region in NationStates and requested relations with us just today. Lazarus is also a large game-created region which recently changed their alignment to defender, adopted a new style of government, and changed Delegates. Spiritus is one of the largest user-created regions in the game, and is the region from which Wintreath broke away from just last month. As such, our regions share many Citizens and conventions.

Issue 3 - November 21st, 2013 / Current Regional Population: 328

1) The Constitutional Convention has continued, with discussions this week focusing on the legislature of Wintreath. At present, the legislature is set to be bicameral, with the upper house, or Overhusen, appointed by the Monarch, and the lower house, or Underhusen elected by the Citizens of the region. Remaining details to be hashed out are the length of each Underhusen term, whether the Riksråd, or Monarch's Cabinet, can run for the Underhusen, and the ability of the Underhusen to override a veto of the Overhusen. You must be a Citizen to participate, but applying for Citizenship is quick and easy on our forum!

2) Related to the previous story, Wintermoot, Monarch of Wintreath, has announced his intention to proceed with regional elections to the Underhusen in December even if the Constitution is not yet complete, based on the structure outlined previously. This means that Citizens can nominate and campaign for Underhusen positions as early as Sunday, November 24th. More instructions to come concerning this later this week.

3) Wintreath celebrated the one-month milestone of its founding on Sunday, November 17th. Official celebrations were muted, but the Monarch used this occassion to give speeches on his hopes for the community in the future and the regional focus for the next month. Thanks to everyone for making the region what it is in just one month!

4) As previously mentioned, Wintermoot announced that this month's regional focus would be to increase regional activity, particularly on our forum. As part of this effort, a region-wide telegram was sent to all nations asking about their experiences with the website and forum, with responses to be summarized and presented to the community in the near-future. If you have not replied to the telegram yet, you are highly encouraged to for the improvement of our region!

5) A new forum theme was introduced to the community late last night, after requests were made for a brighter, more winter-like theme that better reflected Wintreath. While still under development, the theme was considered good enough to be rolled out to the forums. In the next few days, the theme will be improved, and ported over to the website, which is still using the old theme.

6) The regional flag contest ended several days ago, and the winning flag was placed on our region flag! The flag, created by Navinnica, utilizes a Nordic Cross and a dormant tree to symbolize our winter and Nordic themes. Congrats to him for winning out of many excellent submitted flags, and thanks to him for creating such a wonderful flag for us!

Issue 4 - December 1st, 2013 / Current Regional Population: 370

1) Elections for the first session of the Underhusen are now taking place! The candidates are Crya, Chanku, Denth Rowan, Horse, A. Pierangelli, Nox, and kerotan124! Elections will continue until Sunday, December 8th, when the winners will be announced and the Underhusen immediately gets to work on issues facing our region! If you would like to vote, you may do so at the link below. Please be aware that you must be a Citizen to vote, but you can easily apply for Citizenship on our forums.

2) Our regional Constitutional Convention is nearing its final stages, with all sections of government locked-in except for the Judiciary and a Declaration of Rights. Once those sections are locked-in, the Constitution will be written and presented to the Citizens of Wintreath for approval. It has additionally been determined that this document will be titled The Fundamental Laws of Wintreath. It's not too late to add your voice to these final discussions! The link to do so is below.

3) Our regional military, the Hvitt Riddaral, successfully completed its inaugural operations this week, by successfully capturing two warzone regions and assisting other defender groups in two liberations of other regions! This is a fine start for our military, and will hopefully be a harbinger of things to come. 4) Wintreath now supports Tapatalk, a mobile app that makes it easy to browse and interact on our forums through your mobile device! Once you download their free app from your phone's store, you can read, post, and even receive notifications when you receive a personal message or post reply. 5) Wintreath has established relations with the Founderless Regions Alliance and The Beach. The Founderless Regions Alliance is one of the main defender groups in NationStates, and our relations make sense as we're a defender region. The Beach is a new, democratic region just starting to create a new military, and we're happy to establish relations with our fellow new, successful regions!

6) Our community forums have now exceeded 2000 posts! This is an amazing accomplishment for a region that's not even two months old yet, and goes to show the strength of our fantastic community. Here's to more success for our regional community in the future!

Nah...FYI is targeted to people within the region, while the Orendi is targeted toward our friends outside the region. Their content may overlap, though.

1) The first session of the Storting, Wintreath's legislature, opened this week after elections for the Underhusen were complete! The winners of the election were Denth Rowan, Chanku, Crya, Horse, and Nox! Additionally, the Monarch appointed Charax, Butterspring, and himself to the Overhusen to form the complete legislature! Citizens of Wintreath are invited to keep up with regional legislation and debate upon it in the Citizens' Platform on our off-site forums.

2) The Storting quickly ratified a treaty with Lazarus which will enable our regions to better cooperate military as well as share each others' regional culture with each other through events and festivals. This treaty was fully supported by the Monarch, and there was no opposition to the treaty recorded by anybody. You can read the text of the treaty through the link below.

3) A new superhero roleplay, Wintropolis, has been organized by Butterspring, a relatively new Citizen of our region. In this RP, you take on the role of a superhero in a party of fellow superheros, fighting crime and all that good stuff. The roleplay has only just started, but has already proven to be immensely popular. If you're interested in learning more about this new cultural activity, check out the link below!

4) Spammers which have been plaguing our regional message board have finally been banjected! After many warnings and complaints from other natives of the region, the Monarch felt that he had no choice but to remove them from the region. While this has resulted in an 8-nation loss for our region, it's expected that this will be made up through better recruitment, because newbies will not see a mess of spam on our region page. Want to contribute to a more active and intelligent RMB discussion? Simply post on our region page! All nations in Wintreath can do it, and no further registration is required.

5) Our website underwent a domain change earlier this week, to its own proper domain of wintreath.com. This was done to both show that Wintreath is a more serious region and to make it easier for people to remember how to get to our website. If you have any old links or bookmarks to the website or forums, remember to take a second to update them!

6) Wintreath officially opened its NationStates Gameplay embassy on the NationStates forums, which will give everyone on that forum a convenient place to read our statements and foreign dispatch releases. 1) A new DnD-style fantasy roleplay, Forests of Tauria, has been started by long-time member Drexyl Nox! Work to defeat the great evil of a dark, twisted lich named Moria, who is desecrating the forests of Tauria and destroying all in their path. The game has already begun, but you can still join! 2) On a related note, a new community-wide project has opened up called The Wintreath Chronicles. The goal of this project is to put together locations, people, lore, and everything else related to Wintreath for use to future roleplays that may wish to use this information. 4) Speaking of the Underhusen, nominations and campaigning for the upcoming Underhusen elections are set to begin this Saturday, January 21st! 5) Today, Wintermoot announced the creation of the Skydande Vakt, a reserve regional military force that will support the Hvitt Riddaral in support missions throughout NationStates. This area of the military is geared toward those that want to participate in the military, but are unable or unwilling to be on for game update, the period between noon and 1PM, and midnight and 1AM, during which most military operations take place.
