The Username Update
You can now update your username through the new user CP...the option to update it through the old one has been removed. Additionally, in new profiles, you can now view someone's username history by clicking the down arrow next to their name. This will only show past names that are changed as of now. It will also display the original name they registered with.

Citizenship/Introduction Streamlining
Another portion of the forums have been streamlined, with the Citizenship/Ambassador application area being merged with the Introduction/AMA area. But that's not all...new form topics have been written (it's about time...the old ones were from 2013, and the ambassador form still referred to us as a new region O_O). Going forward, people applying for Citizenship or ambassadorship will post their app in the form topic instead of making a new topic. New topics will be dedicated for introductions and AMAs.

It just didn't make sense to have a forum dedicated to topics that had no relevance once an app was processed. I think this change will save space that can be used for more interesting forums in the future, and be easier to understand for new members.

Honestly, I do disagree with the application change. It made things much easier to search for and check for. I personally prefered the division of the AMA and Citizenship areas it only really makes the Citizenship area a bit more cluttered IMO...

Additionally, stuffing all the application to a single thread takes away from the good experience of getting welcome messages from different citizens, and may also force people to swim through the thread to see if they have been accepted.

Sooo... not only are we throwing newcomers right into the community without first offering a mentor, now we are also robbing their warm welcomes they'd normally get after reaching the requirements?

Are the prices of bits and bytes going up? Perhaps we should go spread some of our Monarchy to some region that has plenty to spare. In the name of winter!

It's funny how while the two of you were complaining about new Citizens not getting welcoming messages (which they could still get in the topic, and certainly in their introduction they're encouraged to do), nobody bothered to welcome this new applicant while I was asleep.

Nonetheless, prospective Citizens will be continued to be directed to post new topics. Topics that contain only a form with no introduction will be archived after a week of no posts in them.

The Buddylist Update, Part 1
The buddy list area of profiles has been updated, and (at least) I think they look much better than before. This may appear to be a small update, but I spent a good amount of time trying to find a way to arrange buddies in a way that would look decent on most screen resolutions.

Additionally, the new profiles have now been rolled out to everyone. While there are still further updates planned, the new profiles are the product of over a dozen hours of work so far, and I hope that everyone finds them better for expressing themselves and more enjoyable to read and view.

@Wintermoot looks like the update to profiles is misbehaving on screens like mine:

Thanks for letting me know...out of curiosity, are you getting that with all profiles or just BSR's?

I thought it was with all profiles, but upon further review it just seems to be BSR's profile.

It's probably due to the pictures he has in his profile, but I'll take a look and see if I can do anything about cases like that.

Alright. I've also noticed that there is also some alignment issues that occur on EVERY profile which is shown below:

It's not a big issue, but I thought I'd point it out anyway.

The Options Merger
The area for updating your profile, contacts, and account options have merged. You can now find them in the 'edit profile' link in your menu. At the top of the area, you will find links to edit each area...although you can still also go to the edit contacts section by going to your profile and clicking [Update] beside of Contacts. This should make it easier for people, especially new members, to know all the options that they can change.

Also confirmed the issue that taulover identified, though I'm going to have to do more digging to see why there's a difference for people that aren't logged in.

Some Behind-the-Scenes Rearranging
Today I worked at rearranging some code...due to the convoluted way that the newsfeed, profile, options, and notes features were originally rolled out, the code for these features was mixed in among three separate files. Each of these features now has their own file, which, while providing no obvious benefit to you guys, will make it easier to maintain and work with this code in the future.

Also, the issue that taulover identified has been fixed.
