As per the Speaker Selection Omnibus Amendment Act, this is the first Underhusen in history to select it's own speaker. As such we shall select a Speaker. Here's how I plan it to work, you will simply put the name of a Skrifa, that will be the vote, the Skrifa with the most votes becomes Speaker. The Skrifa then can accept or decline the position, should the Skrifa decline, the Skrifa with the next most votes wins.

Also we should write an amendment to the Procedural Rules to cover this, but afterwards as without a speaker we can't move anything to an official vote.

Ambitious.

Until then, though, the Fundamental Laws give me the responsibility to supervise the Speaker elections, and it would appear that the current Procedural Rules are clear on what's supposed to take place. Unfortunately, we can't start this process at the moment because the Underhusen elections technically won't conclude until the run-off vote between Nox and BlackTudorRose finishes.

Ik, although moot I might point out that there is no section in the procedural rules on selecting a Speaker, the only section that comes close is Speaker of the Underhusen, Section 14, sub-section d, which reads

(d) In the absence of both the Speaker of the Assembly and the Speaker Pro Tempore, the Underhusen may decide on a temporary Speaker pro tempore from its number by process of a majority vote.

8. At the Conclusion of each election, the Monarch shall immediatly open poll within the halls of the Underhusen, where prospective candidates will have 48 hours to stand as a candidate for Speaker of the Underhusen. Following the 48 hour period, all Skrifa may have one vote for Speaker of the Underhusen. The poll will remain open for 48 hours. The Speaker shall be chosen by popularity vote.
