What name should the Club adopt part 2!!

I'm interested in getting some clubs going in Wintreath! Specifically, I'd like to start with trying to start a furry club, because I think it's the sort of unique niche that could prosper in a warm and open community like ours.

In order to proceed, the Regional Clubs Act specifies that at least 5 Citizens must sign a petition to found the club, so we need at least 5 people interested. If we have that, then we'll need to discuss what kind of structure we want the club to have. It can be as rigid or casual as we want, but we have to explain at the very least how and who leads it and how that person will be replaced if they go inactive.

Then once we have all that, we can petition the Landsraad to found the club. So if you'd be interested in being part of such a club, please post here!

Do you guys have any name ideas? We don't have to call it the Furry Club...we're free to call it anything we want. 

I have been considering this since it was posted, mostly because I was unsure whether the Landsraad would go ahead with their more exclusive citizenship.

Since it seems to be going the other way, I’ll join as the fifth. Having read enough Zootopia fanfic to sink a battleship, I think I’m a furry

Man, coming up with names suck. Hmmm, why not something like "The Familiaris"? or like something simple like "The Howling Bells"? Like I said, I suck with names haha

I will begin writing a charter to present to the Landsraad, and in the meantime let's continue to come up with names. I'll put up a poll or something in a day or so!

@Mateo406: Will you be joining the Furry Club? Now that we have five Citizens to start with we can accept non-Citizens (though you should become a Citizen, too...it'd be fun!).

Charter of the Wintreath Furry Club

Charter of the Wintreath Furry Club

Purpose
1) The Wintreath Furry Club stands as a symbol of Wintreath's promise to be a safe space for members to be themselves. It allows for furries and their allies to come together, discuss topics of interest to the furry community, enjoy furry art, and more. In the process, it gives visibility to our own furry community, both to the greater Wintreath community and to other furries who would otherwise hesitate to share that part of themselves.

Membership
2) Membership to the Wintreath Furry Club shall be open to all forum members except those who have had a recent history of discrimination or bigotry, as determined by the Club President. However, only members who are Citizens of Wintreath shall be able to vote in club elections or sign petitions specified in this Charter.

3) Members of the Wintreath Furry Club who have been banned from the Wintreath forums or who have not posted on them in at least 4 months shall be summarily ejected from the Club.

4) Members who have recently displayed discrimination or bigotry may be removed with the support of at least 60% of the Club, as shown by a petition signed by the required number of members.

Structure
5) The Club President shall be responsible for maintaining the Club's compliance with the Regional Clubs Act and other applicable laws, keeping the club active, and accepting or rejecting applications to join the club.
a) The Club President shall be elected concurrent to regular Thane elections. The initial Club President shall be elected upon the Club being founded.
6) The Club Vice-President shall be responsible for carrying out the duties of Club President in their absence, and may fill the role on an interim basis for the remainder of the term if the President has been absent for over one week.
a) The Club Vice-President shall be appointed by the Club President within one week of taking office.

Elections
7) All elections pertaining to the Wintreath Furry Club shall be overseen by the Founder of Wintreath or their designee.

Revisions to the Charter
8) This charter may be revised with the support of at least 65% of the Club, as shown by a petition signed by the required number of members, and upon the approval of the Wintreath Landsraad.

This is just a starting point...if we want to add or make modifications to it, that's fine. Until we have a proper name I'm just using the Wintreath Furry Club as a placeholder.

Because a club will be smaller than Wintreath itself, I decided to go with petitions to eject members and to revise the Charter rather than elections, which can be long and cumbersome. My thinking is that if something needs to be done, it'll be faster for those that support it to indicate so than to have a big discussion and vote. If you guys feel that actually separating it out between a discussion and vote would be better, that's fine too.

I think it's a great charter to start out. I also think its good to go with petitions and to revise the Charter rather than elections. I've seen how long those can turn out to be haha Since we're small at the moment, I think this is a good path to stay on at the moment.

Charter looks good to me  And yeah, I didn't expect I would be joining a Wintreath club either but this looks fun!

• The Furry Fursonas ~ guess we'll need to have Fursona's?
• The Winterlions Pack ~ my attempt at including the region in the club name
• Fur Club ~ the first rule of fur club is you can talk about fur club... idk
