OOC: My sincerest apologies to everyone! I took a short break from NationStates in order to pack my belongings and move to a new city for my summer internship. With this being said, here's the beginning prompt!

It was 7:00am on Monday morning, the beginning of the school week at Wintreath High School. As each of the students begrudgingly dragged themselves to first period class, the high school progressively bustled to life. As the classrooms were slowly filled up, Solveig Akselsdottir seats herself in the middle of the classroom, procedurally unpacking her notebooks and writing utensils. She's rather early, so with tired eyes, she waits for her classmates, as well as the teacher. 

Holke Akselsdottir sit nexts to her big sister, Solveig. He drops his book bag on the floor and slams his head on the desk. “I didn’t get history first period why? And before you answer, don’t.” He immediately falls asleep with his earbuds in.

Melodi Isla sits quietly in the back pulling out a sketchbook and sketching some pieces while humming to herself. She looks up every once in a while to see if the teacher has come in and occasionally looks at her phone.

Monti Newman lumbers into the class room and flops down into his seat, tiredly reading over lines for his theatre class. Nearly at the back, tucked neatly into the corner, just the way he likes it. Every time he flips a page, he bites his knuckle and sighs, eyeing the door periodically to see if any familiar faces come through. A little hum takes over as he tries to recall the melody of this particular number.

Gabe Relosti walks into the classroom, looking somewhat pleased. He takes out a notebook and starts calculating a problem he was dying to solve last night. He also takes out the homework for last night, every answer filled out. He looks on his phone for the time. "7:05, ok," he thought. He raises his glasses and goes back to solving a math problem.

OOC: Who is playing the teacher? I have a feeling this isn't going to get very far if nobody is.

IC: Holke wakes up after his ear buds start 
beeping, they’re low on battery. “Just my luck. In fact that’d what I wanted to happen!”  He throws his earbuds back in his book bag and pulls out a sketchbook and some draeing utensils. He’s been drawing a imaginary map for the last three days, he’s only finished the northern part of the island. He looks at the clock and sees it’s only 7:06. “Psst… Solveig, when does class start?” He says, mildly irritated.

OOC: Is this a modern school where every course is taught by a different teacher or one of those Little House on the Prairie schools where one teacher teaches everything?

Mx. Michiru Keene walks into the classroom carrying their usual notebook and planner, setting them down on their desk.  "Good morning class, and welcome to another day of history.  To see how awake you all are, let's start off with an easy question: Can anyone tell me when our town of Wintreath was founded?"  Michiru asked the class.

(OOC: the answer of course will be the same as when the region was founded, though the year can be altered to older to give it older roots)

OOC: Is this a modern school where every course is taught by a different teacher or one of those Little House on the Prairie schools where one teacher teaches everything?

OOC: A modern high school, and to add on, you wouldn't just be a teacher, you would be a full-blown principal!

OOC: Who is playing the teacher? I have a feeling this isn't going to get very far if nobody is.

Solveig leans over to her sleep deprived little brother and replies,

"You know the drill with Mx. Keene, she's always one minute late to class, every single day. Haven't you noticed by now?"

Holke could her a slight huff of satisfaction rush out of Solveig's nostrils, clearly indicative that once again, she was right.

As Mx. Keene set up shop, for lack of better words, Solveig flipped to their current history chapter in her notebook, immediately spotting the answer bolded and highlighted in an obnoxious yellow. However, not feeling any instinct to actually answer Mx. Keene's question, she leaned back into her chair, crossing her arms and gently gliding her eyes across the room to see if anyone would do the talking for her.

Ichosk Delta slowly opens the door, checking to see how late he is. He tries to slowly enter the room while everyone is distracted and starts sneaking towards the back along the side of the room. He makes exaggerated tip toes along his way. He tries to not make eye contact with anyone in the room as he moves farther back. He then drops his books loudly on the floor by accident, and begins to pick them up.

Monti shoots Ichosk a dirty look for disrupting his focus and turns the page of his script, now neatly tucked into his history book, in a huff. Unable to regain his focus, he turns his attention to Melodi and tosses her a couple of pink starburst from his pocket.

Immediately, Gabe's eager hand shot up. He obviously knew the answer. "October 17th, 1887. The Sefian Railroad company needed an outpost in the tundra, and this was the only spot suitable." This was all in his mind, however, as he never blurted out the answer. 

Mx. Keene looked across the room as the saw a hand dart into the air.  "Gabe, go for it." Mx. Keene said.
