Leigh walked through the door and looked at Emily. “Hey Emily before you start…”
“Leigh!” Emily ran across the room wrapping her arms around Leigh and hugging her. “God I was so worried about you!” Leigh was stunned and unable to move for a moment.
“That was not what I expected,” she said confused. Makenna entered the room and sighed.
“Emily just wants to protect us,” Makenna said. “She’s not trying to be the elders, she's trying to keep us safe.”
“Isn’t that exactly the logic the elders used?” Leigh said.
“Look,” Emily interjected, “I didn’t want to ruin your fun, I’m not going to stop you from having it. Do what you need to do just…” she wiped a tear from her eye struggling to find words. “Just be safe okay?”
“Okay,” Leigh said happily. “Where’s Becky?”
“We thought you knew,” Makenna said.
“No, we split up last night. She wanted to come back home…”

The police chief walked past the bar, his favorite place to hang out but for some reason the bar was closed tonight. He sighed. A couple days ago he had lost one of his patrol officers…Officer Edwards died in the line of duty. He was tired of the senseless violence but he felt like his hands were tied in a never ending struggle to keep his job.

Detective Lane finally felt like he had the cuffs taken off his own case. He was beginning to think that maybe now it was finally time to go in search of killers. He finally felt like he had his freedom back. He left the apartment of one of the suspects he’d just searched when he received a phone call.
“Detective?” the Police Chief said over the line.
“Yeah this is Jacob what’s going on?”
“I’m going to need you to come down to the pub on Queens Lane…and do it quietly. Preferably extra quietly.”
“That bad huh?” the detective asked.
“Yeah…this one is pretty fucking bad.”

“HELLO LONDON!” Liam shouted over the rain storm that was sweeping across the city. He held his microphone in one hand trying to keep his hat from flying away with the other. “Another beautiful night in the city right?” he chuckled. “In tonight’s news…you know what fuck this. NOTHING! NOTHING EVER HAPPENS IN THIS CITY!” The camera quickly cut away as the studio hosts tried to play off the situation.

Neon sat outside the concert venue looking at the giant stadium. Tonight she was going to sing for a city that was hurting from the tragedies of the past few months. She smiled as her stage manager came over to her.
“Nervous?” the nameless manager asked kindly.
“Yanno…” she looked over grasping for words. “Yeah…kind of,” she twirled in a circle taking it all in. “It’s funny really…I never get nervous before a show but this feels like something bigger than those shows I’ve done before.”
“You're going to kill it,” the nameless manager said laughing. “You AlwAYS kill it.”
