*rationing posts like they're potatoes during the Great Irish Potato Famine*
Okay, Mel might be on to something with thr Bus Driver suggestion.
I followed Aerso last night, and it looked like nothing happened. And if TGN is correct in that he roleblocked the Chief of Police, the idea that she brought up is becoming more likely if Aren is being truthful about having seen Glorious Bob getting a visit from Dolby.
That being said, now I'm definitely interested in hearing some more from Dolby on this.
After reading the pages that posted while I was sleeping, I'm thinking the bus driver theory is bunk. At this point, I think it safe to say that we have some bad info floating around.
Aren is a liar and uh, you’ll get more from me in some hours
Vote: Arenado
Also given that me and Aers both had some suspicion on us day one that’s just a bad bus drive if it did happen regardless of who did it and why unless they personally had hard town reads on exactly one of us.
Still. Aren is lying and Mel is so targeted in their world that I’m locking them scum. Like, this is not confirmation bias. They’ve “decided” I’m a wolf and nothing will change their worldview because they’ve decided I’m a misyeet
Aren/Mel/Vro/wisch provisional world
I'm town, and I don't have an alternate wincon. But I think, if you
are town, you do.
And yes, TGN has my flavor
How do you know this? Is it part of your role?
So did I, which is why I’m happy to take any potential information on the game at hand that I can get. There’s no role list and yet I can see a few people lining up to people in the story. And if that’s a lead worth following, gives me an idea as to who town is up against or has in their corner, little by little.
But of course if you’re saying that information isn’t pertinent to you somehow… well. I can only think of one reason why that wouldn’t be. I’m quite comfortable with my vote now.
I have also been following the flavor closely and lining people up to various characters. There are a few roles that I know exist that haven't yet appeared in the flavor, though. Mine is one of them.
It’s entirely possible that Aren is like
A post restricted executioner
I actually need clarification on Michi’s role (did he confirm me as not visiting or visited or only one) but if Aren is exe that makes Mel’s opportunism with the bus driver thing kinda worse imo?
That said, Michi said you didn't visit anyone.
Correct. As far as from what I was told with regards of interpreting the flavor, the fact that nothing happened on Dolby's night means that he didn't visit anyone, nor was he targeted by anyone unless Mel's theory has merit...but thinking about it Dolby would technically still be targeted in that kind of circumstance, so I'd assume I'd still get some kind of wind of it in the flavor.
However, the fact that I've apparently gotten the same result visiting Aerso is starting to make me wonder if there's some fuckery going around.
I mean
me and Aerso have both claimed to not be able to visit anyway
And i townread him anyway
1) There is definitely fuckery going around, but what specific flavor of fuckery is the question.
2) I missed the "Dolby claimed to not be able to visit" thing entirely, and that changes a lot.
3) Post-restricted executioner Aren actually makes a lot of sense in a non-visiting Dolby world.
fall into the hole
*points at hole in ground*
You know what? I’ll bite. Could it be a mistake? Maybe. Could it potentially help us out in the long run? Also maybe. There’s not much else I can cling to information wise and Mel is right- there’s too many investigation style role claims right now to make much sense.
Vote: Dolby
I’d also like to point out that the investigation roles, imo, point to me being toen
michi should just confirm me being a non-visitor and that the person who watched/tracked whatever is lying.
tgn confirms my flavor and that I’m not SK if we believe Laurentus bc that kill would’ve gone through
the only one that doesn’t match up is Arenado
1) I think the hole is just a joke as in "the players dug this hole and the host tripped over it". I'm ignoring it.
2) Everything Dolby says here is true.
I don’t think you’re the SK. I think not everything is as it seems and any roles thrown around, particularly big name town seeming roles (like Chief or Mayor), should be looked at with scrutiny. I could definitely see this being a game of corruption. It feels pretty implied in some of our hosts posts. And I know I’m not the only one who caught that (Melehan, for example) but I respect folks for not wanting to go down the rabbit hole.
While there’s room for deniability because of what Michi said, something *still* doesn’t smell right about you.
I’m just hoping something of use comes forward soon.
I'm beginning to think that, in line with the town administration being
town administrative roles, those roles
are town, but they have alternate wincons that may be anti-town.
Which makes Dolby town and Aren not.
It’s also implied in the text, by the by, that the politician shut down the newscaster. So your scan argument holds little value to me.
If the newscaster got shut down, it would not return a "you didn't see anything" result as Michi seems to have gotten, it would have probably been made known to him that his ability didn't succeed.
There's also how TGN is claimed roleblocker, and he hasn't mentioned anything about Michi, blocking or flavor-wise.
Tbh I think either you or Mel are power-wolfing this shit hard.
Lau, please ensure you pace your posting
mel has the right combination of pushing and trying to get into your good graces and has been far more obstinate and irrational in their push on me that if I had to pick between the two of them I’d go Mel 99% of the time. Marz it’s been this flavor thing which is ok I guess. Melehan has been dedicated to turn all the evidence that I’m town into a conspiracy that I’m mafia. Even flavor was brought up by them first before Marz. And they tried to use Michi as EVIDENCE FOr me being scum
At the same time, voting for no-lynch would be literally going against her win-con if she's a wolf, same with Aren.
I was about to say.
Also, Dolby, it's a bit hard to reevaluate things when you're asleep and not reading the thread.
> The flavor points to a corrupt Chief and you’re concerned you’re being “fucked with”
> Dolby is confirmed or at minimum pointed at as Chief
> Fingers point to Dolby and you’re not making a move for him and at points borderline defending him by pointing your fingers elsewhere
That adds up perfectly, boss. Whether I’m right or wrong about Melehan, that right there smells absolutely rotten.
A-ha. Good luck with that. Let's see what Mel does. I have straight up claimed I am Jacob. Come on, Mel, will you have the balls to counter-claim?
Well, there's the fact that I'm not Jacob (I'm John), and thus CCing you would be pretty anti-town, and I'm town, so no I'm not CCing you.
What I will say is that D1 I got some info from a role which knew all the other roles in the game. I haven't gotten any more info from that corner since, so idk what's up with that, but I know of 2 roles existing which have yet to appear in the flavor.
Is that really all you have to say to that? I was hoping for a bit more than the good ole WW equivalent of “Don’t lynch me, you’ll regret it!” and “no u”
Suddenly all of your “Let’s hold hands and sing Kumbaya” strat from early game makes sense. If you’re the politician and your job is to prevent additional death and help cover up the rest, what better way than to get folks to follow you with vague promises of days of NL benefitting town? And who better to work with to dispute chat than the Chief himself, a role who appears innocent at first glance, but can be interpreted much more sinister in the text if folks paid a little too much attention. Which y’all don’t seem to want folks to do since any time I mention it, it’s fluffed out.
I’m willing to bet Melehan is Detective. Particularly Jacob in the text. And them uncovering anything screws y’all because you’re not of the same alignment.
I'm not the Detective. My role on its own is not investigative.
Lemme just come out and say it now: I am Jacob. The reason I worried I was being fucked with was exactly because of the flavour indicating my chief is corrupt. I bread-crumbed it by telling Vro how ironic quoting Jacob was. So, Mel, if you wanna go and claim that, lol.
See above 2 replies if you haven't already~
Honestly if people want to push me off flavor, I’m town but it’s fine. It’s just not my cup of tea in general and I think but am not 100% sure that Lau and Vro could attest to that anyway?
This is pre-empting Mafiahan specifically coming in and saying that I’m attempting to bury a good resource proving my scuminess lol
I mean, the flavour heavily implies that 1) there is an SK, and 2) that you didn't do shit. So the flavour that is being used against you is also working in your favour.
This.
TGN confirms your flavor and is voting for you. It’s not exactly a glowing recommendation.
And that quote brings up exactly one of the things I was referring to- going down the rabbit hole of whether or not the roles could be corrupt. We haven’t gotten very far investigation wise, so I’m willing to take all the info I can get from flavor and other posts. Again, not everything is going to be what it seems solely based off of role name- I know that for a fact. I have no doubt you’re Chief- I just don’t think I can believe that means you’re town aligned. It wouldn’t be hard to try to hide behind your role.
TGN is being influenced by Mel. He is not an alignment cop. There is nothing that prevents him from using his info in a completely incorrect way.
You yourself said that the flavour heavily implies there's an SK. Mel's whole theory hinges on Dolby being actual mafia with a team member who has a bus drive ability. That can't be when this was an SK kill.
Also this, though at this point, I don't think Dolby is scum anymore.
You know, you two bounce off of each other a lot.
I was going over all of the flavor text again. And something caught my eye.
On the television a reporter named Liam is doing a sit down interview with Max Friedman who appears to be an important political figure.
"Mr. Friedman you continue to assert that London is safe despite a string of murders over the past several months…" before he can finish Max interrupts.
"Did anyone die today sir?"
"No but that hardly…"
"We are working tirelessly to stop this crime spree. If nobody died today then we are succeeding."
Now, something I am dead certain of is that the flavor text is important, because it points to characters in the game, confirmed by the existence of Michi and Dolby.
This implies there’s a politician. And based off of that tidbit, it wouldn’t benefit him if news of deaths got out. We don’t get any info after deaths and it’s referenced further in the text here
In the office of Detective Jacob Lane a report is placed on his desk by an aide. He flips through the pages. The coroner report has been heavily redacted. Every day it feels more and more like someone in the city is trying to make sure this murder is never solved.
It's impossible to figure out anything from this report.
It’s been heavily redacted. Almost as if someone in the city doesn’t want the murder solved.
In the first quote, it’s been made clear that the politician doesn’t want information to get out and that his main goal is to prevent other deaths
And who’s goal has it been since Day 1 to prevent death, something that was noted by multiple players to their surprise. Lau
And when Melehan started coming forward with theories and information, who were the two loudest dissenters? Dolby and Lau. Together at times, I might add. In almost a post floody sort of way.
I think Melehan is town. I think Dolby and Lau are scum, through and through.
1) Looks like my quotes got out of order somehow. :/
2) I think all 3 of us are town. Dolby probably has an anti-town alternate wincon, as do the Mayor and possibly the Coroner, but that's still town.
And word of advice: I hope to god your kung fu is stronger than "he's getting along too well with Dolby." Literally all the evidence that has been presented so far has to get twisted to an insane degree to make it work in a Wolby world. Occam's razor says you and Mel are just scum.
Also, in a scum!me world, no-lynch is not what I'd be doing because that would make this game last fucking forever.
I tried to imagine a scum!Lau NL world for the funsies and loled. That's one wild world.
No I don’t. I think you realized that NL and Dolby were tied today and you’re towing the line towards sheeping to draw attention away from your early plays. Because you said from Day 1 if that didn’t pan out for you, you’d flip to scum hunting. And now it’s not working out for you so you breadcrumbed to cover your ass. Yes I claimed buddy-buddy, but that’s not to say it wouldn’t benefit you to go after the only person who’s votes rival NL. I’ve seen it happen before.
Of course there’s no CC- no one else is online and playing with us right now. AND I’d also like to note that, as I said, I could be wrong about Mel. But I also think that the actual Jacob could be out of game- we have no real way of knowing, at least until folks start popping on, provided they aren’t dead. I think it’s reasonable though, to think that that is a mechanic that favors the politician and the chief, who are both corrupt and trying to cover things up.
I'm not Detective. I've never softed Detective, so idk where you got that from, except that I seemed to have more info that others. I got that info from another role that knew all the other roles in the game, but that was on D1. I know of 2 roles that haven't been mentioned in the flavor yet, and I have a good idea (but not 100% because it's the result of me watching for softs) of who they belong to.
I, uh, have a bit of paranoia about this whole damn game and the info I'm getting, so I might consider just voting Dolby off. Question: how much do y'all trust our dear host?
In all honesty? I wouldn't be surprised if there was no janitoring and the redacting was just all the host fucking with us. That's how much I trust them.
It might not be janitorial activity. It seems more like a switch that is turned on, and there is some way to turn it off, get details. On the topic of redaction, the only way we get to know what's going around is media people and news mostly. You have been doing some news stuff for last two days, and media does deal in redactions , is redaction an ability that you hold?
I think this as well, though it looks like it's linked to the Chief and Mayor rather than the media.
