Alright, this is a bit unorthodox, but I'm going to skip UMF's vote. They haven't been on any of the Wintreath properties (the discord, here, the NS page) for 8 days and counting now, so I'm not going to wait around and assume they're going to be back on in a super timely fashion (especially when the game has been going on for over a month).
So with that being said, the votes are unanimous, and so
@Anthony (XXURBANXX) is voted off.
And Anthony was...the spy! Yes, congratulations, Anthony was our spy in disguise! If I had to guess, he was probably Slugworth trying to steal some more top secret recipes!
Our location, though some of the answers made it pretty rough to pick up on it, was
Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory via the Tom and Jerry and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory cartoon movie. (If "Chocolate Factory" or "Willy Wonka/Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" had been guessed, I would have accepted those as well).
Everyone's roles were:
@Imaginative Kane: Willy Wonka
@Anubhav Ghosh: Charlie Bucket
@Laurentus: Mike Teevee
@Dawsinian: Augustus Gloop
@Wintermoot: Violet Beauregard
@Red Mones: Veruca Solt
@TGN: Tom Cat
@UMF: Jerry Mouse
Pros: Some of the answers were great. Laurentus leaning into the western loving trait of Mike Teevee and some of Kane's answers were pretty on point.
Cons: I think there was some confusion on the source material, as well as what was allowed versus not in answers. UMF for example completely threw me off with his Doppleganger and favorite dish answers, since they made no sense for both the character or source material. But that may be a confusion more towards how the game works, which is totally understandable when it's your first game.
The Clever: TGN also threw me off a bit in his coat answer, though in hindsight his answer was actually very clever since Tom in that movie was an alleycat that Charlie sacrificed giving a loaf of bread to (both to Tom and Jerry), so that downtown answer actually made complete sense.
Overall, it definitely went in ways that I could tell there was some theme struggling, so going forward there may have to be some tweaks in future games in this type to stress not going off script so that we're staying in theme/location/character for an all around fair game.
What are your thoughts?
