Greetings to all!
More than anything, Wintreath has been built by people who have put time, effort, and creativity into the things that we do. Today, I have the honour of recognizing the contributions of someone who has had an impact on a number of different aspects of Wintreath:
@Ruguo.
Ruguo has contributed to almost every portion of Wintreath by now, but their contributions in Werewolf and Spyfall are probably the most well-known. Ruguo has taken those games to the next level designing great, challenging games with chaotic elements that excite players and even attract people from other websites to play their games. To this day, “Of Cores and Turrets” still holds the record for most players and most posts per day, and it led to a new era of more active games with many more players in each game.
Ruguo has also played a role in many other cultural aspects of Wintreath, from hosting an escape room game early on to organizing Summersend 2020 as Jarl of Culture. They’ve been involved in the roleplay scene by putting out serious RP ideas and founding the Academy for Roleplaying Things and Stuff (ARTS), initiatives that were only unsuccessful because there were so few people other than Ruguo themselves to help run them.
In the last few months, Ruguo decided that it was time for a new challenge, perhaps one of the toughest in Wintreath: managing our foreign affairs. Their meticulous, open-minded approach has breathed fresh air into what’s historically been a stressful position, and what’s even more impressive is that they’re single-handedly running a ministry that used to take 4 people. To keep our friends and allies up to date on what’s going on in Wintreath, they created the
Aurora Borealis, a new foreign dispatch that summarizes the people, events, and things of Wintreath into smart and witty categories.
Finally, no recognition of Ruguo would be complete without a mention of their involvement in the Regional Truth Committee, an independent group (also made up of Melehan and Doc) who investigated the events behind The Schism of 2019-2020, taking on a great amount of stress, suspicion, and animosity in the process. By collecting evidence and interviewing people on all sides of the conflict, the Committee was able to issue a partial report resolving the rumours and misunderstandings those events propagated as well as confirming the source of many of them.
I’m not the only one who has taken notice of these contributions, either. Ruguo has been honoured by their fellow Citizens by being named Wintreath’s Finest 4 times (February 2019 and February, May, and August 2020) as well as being named Wintreath’s Finest of 2020 overall. Ruguo has had a long history of helping to build our community, and in the end what this wall of text says is that Wintreath would not be what it is today without them.
So it’s a great honour to elevate them to the echelons of Wintreath nobility in appreciation for all they have done by conferring upon them this title of nobility.
Thus, by proclamation of the Monarch on this 2,874th day since the founding of our community, Ruguo is hereby risen into the nobility of Wintreath as the Earl of Solvkre, in recognition of their accomplishments for the betterment of the Frozen Realm of Wintreath, its community, and the people in it. Additionally, House of Eske shall be known henceforth as the Noble House of Eske, whose members shall have all the rights and responsibilities afforded to a proper Noble House of the Frozen Realm.Please join me in congratulating Ruguo on this well-deserved and long-overdue honour!
