  • @Gerrick: That's a good question, and I realize it's something I didn't properly address before. Some spells are only able to be cast by you, especially Shinedown. The spells that are listed as apprentice spells in the design document are specific to apprentices. 

    In many cases artifacts and scrolls found on the map can be cast by either. As of this expansion items found on the map have to be returned to your mage tower if you're going to use them (an apprentice has to pick them up and bring them), but often the effect will be more powerful if you're the one casting it...for example, you can summon creatures on any tile while apprentices can only summon on a tile adjacent to them. You'll just have to decide whether it's worth the time and resources to transport it to your tower for that.

    I will try to update those specifics tonight, but that's the gist of it.

    Game Rules Update!
    As before, an apprentice must pick items up on the map and bring them to your tower for you to use. To make it a bit harder for opponents to swipe an item revealed by Shinedown though, I'm making it so that you can't teleport apprentices to a tile that has been revealed by Shinedown within the last 3 turns. You'll just have to teleport them nearby and fight it out with whoever else decides to try to get items.

    Round 2 Ends on Friday, August 13th at 9AM
    @Dawsinian, @Dawcreeke, @TGN: Since you did not take any actions in the first round, please remember to include the initial spell you want to have in your library when you submit your moves.

    Also how do I teach my apprentice my starting spell? Is that a player action or apprentice action? I assume they'd need to be at the tower in order to learn it, yes?

  • @Gerrick: Yes, you can do moves in any order that you want, and you can do attacks/abilities/actions in any order you want. Just be aware that the latter will always be processed before the former.

    To teach your apprentice, just make sure they're at the tower and say that they'll learn the spell.

    @Imaginative Kane: Both Shinedown and teleporting a mage without the Blink spell costs 1AP, which you have 1 have.

    @TGN: I'm not sure which tile you're talking about. If you could give me the coordinates you want to teleport your apprentice to, that should clear things up.

  • Sorry for the double-post, but I forgot to mention that I've been working on the map this round.

    Because the game is more complicated, it's important that the map become a better tool to show you what's going in the game. Now each player has their own color on the map, with T showing where your tower is. The color underneath your T is your color. Apprentices on the map are marked with A and the player's color. For example, you can see Gerrick's apprentice at 13,13. As before, tiles that have already been explored are in red.

    I also added a row and column to make it easier to visualize the coordinates after TGN told me he had no way to find the coordinates on mobile.

    This isn't the end of the updates to the map, but that's what I've been able to add so far. :)
