I am happy to announce some updates in the Riksraad!
First,
@Ruguo will be taking over as our new Jarl of Foreign Affairs! I honestly didn’t expect the position to be filled anytime soon, but I’m especially happy because Ruguo is one of the few people in Wintreath who is uniquely qualified for the position. They’ve served in many IC and OOC roles, which includes the Riksraad, the Joint Moderation Group, the Regional Truth Committee, and ambassador to several regions. Even better though, they understand the challenges of the role and want to take it on, and I think that determination will lead to good things.
Ruguo will also be filling the new role of Jarl of Werewolf, which is being split from the Culture portfolio. There’s no doubt that their games have brought Werewolf in Wintreath to the next level and inspired others to host large, quality games that people get excited about. Now that the Werewolf scene has grown so large that it needs its own dedicated ministry, I can’t think of anybody better to continue that great work. As Jarl of Werewolf, Ruguo will ensure that we host regular successful games by helping players and hosts alike.
Because of the split into its own ministry, the Thane of Werewolf position has been discontinued. Also, given the circumstances in this instance I’ve waived the restriction on holding more than one Jarl position at a time.
Finally,
@Gerrick will be returning to the Cabinet as Jarl of Culture! You may remember that Gerrick previously served in the position for a long period that included the introduction of new games like Arena and Diplomacy as well as regular Avatar of the Month and Wintreath’s Finest contests. Gerrick was a meticulous and dedicated Jarl who always kept the cultural trains running, and I look forward to seeing him take on the role once again.
There may be more announcements going forward as I contemplate additional changes, but for now congratulations to Ruguo and Gerrick on their new roles in our government!
