Good luck everyone.  Also sorry I didn't finish the last few games I have hosted.

Round 1

Ragpicker moved first. He vanished from sight, careful to Evade any oncoming attacks.

Your Name ran until he could see Quintan in his doorway, and threw a rock at him, dealing 14 damage. He then ran back down to the outside of his starting house.

Nuef walked to the riverbank and assumed a defensive posture.

Quintan drank his swiftness potion and flew across the arena, crossing the bridge. As he passed Nuef exiting his starting house, he slashed with a Duel Attack, dealing 16 damage, before taking cover within the house.

"A most fascinating start," the Host declared.

My bad, my interpretation was that that was a fluff description and the key part was that you can't be targeted. I see now that that could still be an issue for any potential AoE effects (none chosen in this game I think except for Mystic) and longer-term strategy.

But definitely sorry about that, I'm a bit rusty and was a bit distracted last night, maybe shouldn't have ended the round early. If you'd like to PM me a new Round 1 movement order, I can retcon your location if you would like to avoid any potential metagaming issues.

Kane also just pointed out to me that according to my own rules, starting health is 40. Oop, I haven't read these rules too carefully since I drafted them back in January-ish, and this was a copy/paste error, fixed.

Round 2

Your Name raised his hands and launched a Lightning Bolt. It struck Nuef, dealing 10 damage, before traveling through a doorway and striking Quintan for 9 damage. He then moved up to take cover within a small house.

Ragpicker reappeared from hiding, running onto the central bridge and preparing to Block any incoming attacks.

Nuef stepped a bit away from the river.

Quintan moved out of and behind from the house he was in and prepared to Block any oncoming attacks.

Well that’s unfortunate for me

So since I'm first in the combat order, if I move from my current location, an enemy could attack me at my current location (my hitbox) but wouldn't have reduced damage since I wouldn't be blocking anymore, right?

Yeah that's correct.

Sorry if that's not the most intuitive/satisfying result, had to consider some tradeoffs when making this system logically consistent but playable. Though this luck element to initiative + there being drawbacks to having effects end early has always been a thing, just in this case it can't be mitigated via movement.

Round 3

Ragpicker got ready to run, Dashing with a burst of speed past the house where Your Name was.

Nuef drank a health potion and walked to the nearby bridge.

Quintan chugged a health potion and Dashed behind the large house.

Your Name ran out of the house he was in and walked to the nearby tree. He prepared to Block in case any of his foes dared approach.

A magical force field encroached from the east, cutting off the edge of the Arena.

Your Name crossed the northernmost bridge. In a burst of speed, he turned back to fire a Rapid Shot at Ragpicker, dealing 6 damage, before running behind the nearby tree.

Nuef stood still, ready to defend against any attacks.

Quintan prepared to Block any incoming attacks.

Ragpicker crossed the same bridge that Your Name had crossed, and stood ready to Block any oncoming attacks.

A magical force field encroached from the north, cutting off another edge of the Arena.
