  • I got vaccinated 3 days ago.
I feel fine so far. The pain in the arm subsided (it really ached the first day or 2) and I have no fever, just a running nose (which I'm not sure is related) and a bit of fatigue.
Looking forward for 2nd shot in 2.5 weeks.

  • I'm glad that you're doing fine after taking the vaccine. :)

The vaccine started to become available in my workplace a few weeks ago, but they're focusing on high-risk groups and people who need to come to the office (I'm working from home). Realistically it'll probably be a few months before I can get it.

  • Nice! I'm hoping I can get it soon, though it'll probably be a couple months for me too.

    Yup.
Our country has been chosen by Pfeizer as a massive-scale testing-ground for their vaccine.

Yeah, they prioritise it here too. This week is for 55-60 y/o's, in addition to older or otherwise high-risk populations. I'm 56 (shhh, don't tell anyone) so I got in. Still, I had to stand in line 2 full hours (they opened it just for those hours for 45+, because they had surplus ampules about to expire, so many came). But it was worth it.

Our country is being used by Pfeizer as a massive-scale testing-ground for their product. We share our statistical data with them, which, hopefully, will be aggregated/de-identified. Our Linguistic Academy is having a field day, inventing Hebrew words for "mutation," "de-identifcation" and the like.

The last I read your country had the highest vaccination rate in the world so far, meaning it'll probably be one of the first to gain herd immunity to COVID...assuming a new variant doesn't come along that's resistant to the vaccine. At least that hasn't happened so far. v_v

  • So far, so good. 2nd shot was much easier to get. Sat in line only about 20 minutes (first time was a 2-hour wait outside, in the cold). They improved their organizing.

A Dutch friend is trying to get his mom to schedule an appointment for innoculation. He himself will only be able to get it in May, he says.

We are racing against the new mutations of the virus, which are way more contagious, especially among children (but not only). My age group (50-60), once considered safe, is now considered a high-risk group. I'm glad I got innoculated is all I can say.
