  • Hi there everyone, Michi here!

So, I've been wracking some ideas in my head for games, and I'd like to see what you guys would be interested.

Currently, I have 3 types of games ideas:

    Choose Your Own Adventure
As I'm sure you've seen, I've been considering bringing this game back in some form.  The current setup is that there'd be scenarios that everyone would discuss while the current round leader would choose the best option with or without the advice of the other players.  The result could either continue the story (in which a new round leader would be chosen), or an "End of Adventure" result (in which that player would be killed off in some way and removed from the game), and would continue until one of the good endings was hit or until all of the players died/were removed.  Currently I do have a darker Carnival theme going on, though I'd need to finish it up and polish it off to be game-ready.

    Hide and Seek
Think Spyfall, but simpler.  This would be easily playable on Discord since it's a quick game.  Players would express their interest in playing, and the game would start with the picture of a location, as well as a list of possible hiding places, one each for every player including the seekers, as well as a couple of empties as well.  The players chosen to hide would each pick a location via DM with their choice, and the Seekers, naturally, would seek them out (either a sole person doing it, or a group seeking together similar to wolves in Werewolf picking as a team).

The game would end either when all of the hiders have been found, or the Seekers have chosen too many empty areas.

    The Hunger Games
I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done yet.  There'd be a maximum of 24 players, minimum of 10.  Players have a specialty that they could choose from a list (swordplay, archery, knitting, etc...) in which they'd show via a PM in an RP way as part of the pre-game stuff.  Based on that, they'd be given a score between 1-12 on how much of a threat they'd be.  Once the game starts, much like CYOA all the players would be given a scenario, and the players would be given 3 options for each (via DM), which would vary in what they'd do ranging from foraging for food, making an alliance with a player, setting up mines, stabbing someone in the back, etc... and after everyone's made their choices, a result of what happened would be posted explaining everyone's choices.

This would continue to go on until, like the story the game is based off of, there was one final victor in the end.

There'd also be several twists and turns throughout such as a fire that might break out, a feast with things certain players might need, an explosion or other various traps, and other such things that could shift the game one way or another...again, like past games in the stories have done.  So it's a game where you wouldn't know what your choices can do, and it's really anyone's game.  Trust no one, or trust everyone, it'd be a game of survival.

So there's these 3 game ideas, which would you want to see or have an interest in? Let me know what sounds good! And if you have ideas for other games, let me know!

  • I think they're all ingenious ideas! Hopefully we can see how each one plays out and watch them become fixtures of our community. :)

I remember years ago Hannah did a CYOA game based on an old game she had. Although we never got to see our employee climb to the top of the corporate ladder, I remember it was fun and a lot of people got involved in it. The Rejected Realms did a CYOA thing on their region page through polls too for awhile...there's a lot of ways to do it, and they all seem popular. :)
