    Elect Experience!

    Hello All!
As I'm sure you're aware, I'm running for Underhusen. This is, by no means, my first time running for elected office in Wintreath. I've been honored to serve Wintreath in the following capacities:
    • Served as the Speaker of the first, second, fifth, and twenty-seventh terms of the Underhusen
    • Served as the Speaker pro tempore of the seventh and twenty-sixth terms of the Underhusen
    • Served as the Chairman of the third and fourth terms of the Overhusen
    • Served as the first and third Jarl of Defense

I'm running for Underhusen because I feel as though everyone in Wintreath deserves a dedicated representative in the Underhusen. I believe that an elected official should serve as a voice for the region's citizens for the entirety of their term, not just the first week. Additionally I feel as though there are important issues that need to be addressed, such as judicial reform and reform of the legislative branch.

In addition, I am stating here and now that if elected I plan to stand for Speaker of the Underhusen. It is vitally important that the administrative taskings of the Underhusen be completed quickly and correctly, and I believe I have demonstrated my ability to do so.

I am open to any questions the public may have. Feel free to approach me on this topic, by private message, or on Discord.

    Respectfully,
    Daws

  • Welcome to the campaign! :)

Obviously, the biggest political issue in the region of late has been the status of the Underhusen itself...what do you believe the future of the Underhusen and the Storting should be?

And since I'm asking this to the Citizens' Council: "In the most ideal form, what is Wintreath to us? What is it about this place that keeps us here and that we get something from as individuals? What is special about Wintreath, in your opinion?"

  • Tagging along with the idea of what the future of the Underhusen is, do you have any plans for things you'd like to accomplish during your term?

As I have stated before, it's evident that the Underhusen has served its original purpose. As a nationstates-based region where most of us were very much concerned with politics, the Underhusen made sense. Now, when most of our activity comes from our out-of-NS activities (think forum games, game nights on Discord, etc) there really is no situation where I see the Underhusen continuing as it is currently designed to. It is also evident that most of our government activity now comes from the Riksrad and direct citizen involvement (the Cititzens' Platform, mainly).

I think to move forward in a way where we can have citizens represented on the Riksrad (pretty much keeping the Citizen's Council and continuing to elect Thanes) would be beneficial to us. To start, I would like to see Wintermoot's idea implemented. By fully implementing this system, it will allow us to explore ways to streamline the government while still allowing citizen involvement.

And since I'm asking this to the Citizens' Council: "In the most ideal form, what is Wintreath to us? What is it about this place that keeps us here and that we get something from as individuals? What is special about Wintreath, in your opinion?"
I think what's special abut Wintreath is our culture and inclusivity. As a region we encourage people from all backgrounds and all walks of life to come and chat, play games, and such. We don't force people to get involved in things they don't want do get involved with, and we're pretty open to new activities and games.

I’d like to see us at least make a serious attempt at addressing the future of the Underhusen. While I can’t guarantee we’ll figure out the right answer in one term, I’m hoping we can have an actual conversation about how to move forward and make progress towards that. I’d also like to address our judicial system if we have time.
