It appears that you are misquoting His Holiness. Nowhere does he say that "Too much Potato is bad." Rather, he says that shepherd's pie is bad, and therefore Potatoe should not be in it (and thus, any Potatoe in shepherd's pie is too much).

Despite being clergy, it appears that you are quite new to this faith. Let us consider the matter. The Holy Spud is holy. This is much like how the cow is holy in Hinduism. Suggesting that there can never be too much Potatoe in a food is like suggesting to a Hindu that there can never be enough beef in a food.

(Also, please stop misspelling shepherd. It made my search and investigation so much harder. Shepard is a last name, not a profession after which the pie is named.)

This is the type of corruption that needs to be rid of in the church. So because I just officially joined the church somehow means I should be discredited, when I was a believer of the HOLY SPUD before I officially became a member. In addition, Your Hinduism comparison is flawed because cows cannot be eaten in Hinduism, while potatoes are a gift of SPUD that he encourages us to eat. Seems that for someone who claims that only seasoned veterans know the faith, you dont understand Potatoism and your knowledge of Hinduism and their beliefs are questionable. Cows are so sacred that they dont even make them move if they're in the middle of the street, they let them take their time, possibly causing hours of traffic. Dont compare SPUD to beef!

This is a misquote. Putting things in quotation marks like this signals a direct quote in the English language. However, this is not the case here; His Holiness did not say these words which you are claiming that he said. He said something far less general; in attributing a direct quote to His Holiness you are making deceptively false claims about our Pope.

Not only did you clearly misinterpret the meaning of His Holiness, but you also made up a false quote to make your weak position seem stronger than it actually is.

This is the type of corruption that needs to be rid of in the church. So because I just officially joined the church somehow means I should be discredited, when I was a believer of the HOLY SPUD before I officially became a member. In addition, Your Hinduism comparison is flawed because cows cannot be eaten in Hinduism, while potatoes are a gift of SPUD that he encourages us to eat. Seems that for someone who claims that only seasoned veterans know the faith, you dont understand Potatoism and your knowledge of Hinduism and their beliefs are questionable. Cows are so sacred that they dont even make them move if they're in the middle of the street, they let them take their time, possibly causing hours of traffic. Dont compare SPUD to beef!

You keep throwing around the word "corruption" without any demonstration of corruption's existence. You are not being discredited for being a newcomer, for newcomers are welcomed into the faith. Rather, I am hoping to educate you in one of our important beliefs.

Reverence toward the Potatoe is key. This Church has long known that in order to respect the Potatoe, it should not be used everywhere. Ever since he founded the faith, our Pope has long doled out judgement on foods which are unworthy of the Holy Spud. There is indeed even a minority opinion that as it is the Holy Potatoe, it should not be commonly eaten except in times of great need. If you are not yet aware of this, you should now know this tenet of our faith.

My analogy is apt. Note that although they are in the minority, some Hindus do indeed eat beef; there is variation in this. Regardless, however, the cow is revered. So too, for us, is the Potatoe.

I thank you Tau for your analysis and discussion. Though I do disagree with you, I do admit I did exaggerate Crushita's comments (as I accepted when I started this whole schism), it's part of the whole joke in this and a lot of Pope crisises in that the popes really have very little ideological differences in belief.
Corruption is thrown around so often do I really need an explanation. 
(It mostly came out of the fact that Moot refused to endorse me as pope because Crushita is a supporter so I accused Cruhsita for bribing the government, hence corruption)
One thing I do have to note is that though there are many differences of practice amongst all religions including ours, one of the things I find clear about Hinduism is that:
Hindus who do eat meat, often distinguish all other meat from beef. The respect for cow is part of Hindu belief, and most Hindus avoid meat sourced from cow as cows are treated as a motherly giving animal, considered as another member of the family.

Most Hindus avoid meat, of course the rogue ones may eat beef, just like how some Christian's may not believe in God or Jesus or the trinity, but it is not mainstream Hinduism for beef to be eaten. Like it says, eating beef is considered like killing a member of the family.
Potatoism is more flexible so they may be some members who think potatoe is too sacred to be even eaten, but I believe that the Potatome describes potato as a gift from SPUD to feed the hungry people like the peasants in Ireland.

Yes but Ogun, if you intend to break away from the church and create a separate sect (which is alright, more power to you), you can't really claim the majority of Potatoeists, or even the majority of Potatoeists in Wintreath.  The protestants didn't get St. Peter's Basilica, they simply left and did their own thing.  Nobody is preventing you from doing this.  That being said, Potatoeist theology is steeped in tradition and context.  Historical interpretation and precedent is as much a part of theology as the scriptures themselves, much like as in actual Catholicism. 

Your attempt at a schism isn't so much an attempted schism as it is an attempted reformation that lacks popular support, because there isn't as much a literal following in the faith anyhow, especially because there isn't a technically canonical fully fleshed out scripture (though on several occasions I've been tempted to thread the various canonical verses together in their proper positions with at least Proclamations and Fields, for example). 

Also, correct me if I'm wrong @taulover , but I don't think that the papacy claims infallibility at all either, so even if Crushita *did* say something that was heretical, he could declare it null and void (even though nothing heretical has been said).  At least that's what I believe I recall lol

Well you've got real basis for the whole joke. I don't have any ideological differences from Crushita that would encourage me to create a whole new sect (though that power offer is sweet), but it's more like the Papal crises of the Middle ages, the Anti-Popes didn't want to leave the church, they wanted to take the papacy of the catholic church themselves. So this schism isnt exactly like the Protestant reformation, though I see your point
