Title
1. This act shall be cited as the Trader Commendation Act.

Recognition
2. The region of Wintreath recognizes the accomplishments, contributions, and services to Wintreath by our Crown prince, trader, included but not limited to:
a) His service as a member of the Royal Family and Crown Prince of Wintreath,
b) Significant contributions to Wintreath as a Skrifa of the Underhusen, including as Speaker for several terms,
c) Contributions to Wintreath as a longtime Peer of the Overhusen,
d) Service to Wintreath as a member of the operators team and the head operator/moderator on Discord,
e) Significant contributions to Wintreath's official Minecraft server, including continuous maintenance, updating, and promotion of the server.

3. The Storting bestows on trader the title "Lord of Minecraft."

4. The Storting hereby awards trader the Commendation of Wintreath.

Normally I get most of the information on people from their signatures but trader doesn't have one so I hope people can tell me more things so I can add, he's definitely worthy of commendation and there's definitely more contributions. He also doesn't seem to have his badges updated...
If I'm not mistaken I think trader is a prominent member and head of the minecraft in wintreath so that's why I decided to place the title Lord of Minecraft, but if that doesn't seem proper please tell.

Some feedback:

I believe trader is not capitalized.

I don't remember, is trader also the Discord head op currently?

Might also note that the Minecraft server has been entirely paid for by trader for quite some time at this point.

Need a period in section 3.


I feel like the "Lord of Minecraft" title at first feels a bit strange, but I suppose that given his current financial and administrative relationship with the server, as well as his long time spent there, it may make sense.

Tau is right, trader is typically not capitalized. I feel weird commenting on my own commendation post lol.

Some thoughts springing from Daws' post:

d) Service to Wintreath as a member of the operators team and the head operator/moderator on Discord, where he rewrote the operator/code of conduct guidelines¹, reformed rules rules² in discord^† to be more effective in dealing with conflicts before they escalate, and serving as a leader during the troubling times between February and July of 2020,

1. I'm wondering if "rewrote the operator code of conduct" would sound better.
2. I think we only need one "rules".
3. There's some verb-tense disagreement here. Specifically, we go from him having "reformed rules" to "serving as leader". Perhaps we should have a separate bullet for his service during the troubling times of 2020 and reword it to "Service as a community leader during the troubling times of February and July 2020, where he worked to heal the community and help us overcome our differences".

1. Is it the op code of conduct being referred to here? Or is it the code of conduct for Discord members in general? I guess it makes sense for that to be the op code of conduct considering that the rules are discussed later on.
3. Either that, or just change "serving" to "served", depending on how much emphasis y'all want to put on this part.

And one more thing I noticed:
†"discord" should be capitalized. Might suggest "the Discord rules" or similar, I feel like that would be less clunky.

Technically I haven't published the Operator Code of Conduct/Guidelines and Enforcement Guidelines, but I feel there's an understanding that the current Ops should do their best to follow the drafts. I've been thinking about enforcement guidelines and stuff but had to put it off because school and mental health stuff have been keeping me occupied.

The Discord Rules Re-write, the Operator Code of Conduct/Guidelines and Enforcement Guidelines are three (2.5ish really) separate things. They are supposed to be used in concert with one another to provide Ops with enough guidance as to when, why and how to enforce the rules. Also helps to provide higher ranking administration with the tools they need to manage the team. Essentially once it's all deployed, anyone on any level of the community should hopefully have a clear understanding of how and why things are being done the way they are.

There are some other things that I want to attach to this sorta work (but they can wait), that should provide even more clarification on stuff, especially guidance for someone who is new to moderation in general or someone who may head the Ops one day.
