A genie grants you three wishes. What would they be?

First wish: That my two remaining wishes would be granted in the meaning by which I want them to be granted, and instantly.

Second wish: That I would be able to understand the full ramifications of my last wish before I wish it.

Third wish: That the genie who granted me the wishes would cease to exist, and all his power/magic with him.

And that is a way I see to defeat a genie.

1. That my body will not age.

2. The ability to persuade people to do whatever I want.

3. A device that can give me the knowledge and truth of anything I want.

Yeah, people seem to forget that genies are usually potrayed as being self-serving tricksters that will either turn your wish against you, or use it as some kind of moral comeuppance.  Wishes would normally have some hidden loophole or strings attached, or you have to be very specific otherwise your wish would get exploited.

Example being: You could wish your body wouldn't age, but you could still die.  You just would be a timeless looking corpse that would never get older.

Likewise, you could wish for the power of persuasion to where others would do whatever you wanted.  But you could accidentally give them a command one day about killing you or they could take that persuasion to an extreme and not be able to stop until they've done what you've asked...

And finally, you could wish for a device that gives you knowledge and truth of anything, but it ends up always being depressing knowledge that you wish you never knew and it could be something that eventually drives you to suicide when you continuously learn those horrible truths.

So on that I'd have to ask what kind of genie we're dealing with.  Would we be dealing with on that may have those quirks to them? Or would the wishes being granted by as we intended them with no secret/hidden consequence or "be careful what you wish for" moments attached to them?

Also, depending on the lore, making that 3rd wish would bind you to that lamp after it was granted and make you the new slave of the lamp, as going through all 3 wishes would grant that specific genie their freedom.  Would there be any caveats like that?  If you wished the genie free, would you be forced to take their place?  Or would it be 3 wishes granted and done and the genie eventually finds itself a new master unless it was wished free?  If it was wished free, would it retain magic powers (aka Genie in Aladdin) or would they be completely human?

Well, before I started making any wishes, I'd start negotiating on a list of definitions.
If that failed, of course, then I'd request - not wish for, just say something along the lines of 'before I can begin this wish-making process, I will need some time to fully assess the language I will need to use, and request - not wish for, merely request - a recess of up to a full week from today' - then go talk to a lawyer.
After that my first wish would be that the genie would, for all wishes it received after and including the present one, receive them in good faith and, if necessary, delay the granting of said wishes for only so long as required to clarify the intentions of the wish-recipient if these intentions were vague, unclear, or could otherwise be misinterpreted, and should a wish still be 'granted' in a way as not to meet these requirements, that it be voided, the effects returned to the status quo ante, and that the recipient receive a compensatory wish so as to still retain full use of their 'Three Wishes'.
After that my bases would be covered, so I'd wish for 2) omniscience and 3) omnipotence, because seriously why rely on loopholes or mindgames vis-a-vis a wish-granter when you can become an entity that could just do whatever you wanted

You guys are taking this too seriously. It's really just what three things do you wish for most.

Not that I'm trying to stifle discussion about genie legalese, it's just that for the purposes of this topic you don't have to worry about being tricked or anything.

I could be that savage who's first wish is I wish for an unlimited amount of wishes but I'm not.

1. I wish that the Covid-19 Pandemic would end and that everyone who has it now stays safe
2. I wish that no more pandemics ever occur
3. I would wish (without getting political) that the person I'm supporting in the US Presidential Election wins. Now I'd tell the Genie who I want to win but no politics so I'll stick with this.

My 3 wishes

• That I find a female (my age or a little younger) with whom we would find mutual, shared happiness.
• That I never suffer from a crippling illness (especially mental) or poverty.
• That I will be able to enjoy and pursue for the rest of my life my little pleasures in life: Reading, Music and Writing.

@W Amadeus: Thoughtful and simple wishes. Most people don't think of the simple, little pleasure in life that are usually more fulfilling than vacations and money and fame. I wish I had more time just to do the things that I enjoy doing like that.

But also, not to delve too deep into definitions, but wouldn't being all-powerful imply you are all-knowing as well?  For example if I'm all powerful, I could grant myself omniscience yes?  Hmm... perhaps ejudicating this would make sense after all...
