I took the word "Altruism", added and changed some letters, then made sure that no one else was using it. 

I was just thinking about Luca and I came up with this

so it was on discord, before it was False because I'm that type of person who incorporated a Office reference in my name, and than I rekindled my love for the gameplay of Bulletstorm. One of the characters I named myself after for a long time, this being Waggleton P. Tallylicker, a robot that literally has 2-4 minutes of screentime. It was a magnificent name and was also my pfp for a long time. Then like half a year later a friend online called me "Sir Waggleton" and I liked how it sounded, so it stayed.

The story is pretty boring.

I was 16 and needed a name for a main character in Dragon Age Origins. I sat in front of the keyboard and typed random syllables until I got something that sounded fantasy badass warrior.

The name I use for female characters is Faedria if you're wondering. Cause "ae" comes from Latin which is automatically badass, and as a native speaker of a Romance language, obviously a female name needs to end with an a.

Derived from Moondinao, my NationStates nation at the time. Later changed it to Moondrop thanks to a joke someone made on Discord.

So Abigail is my name, now I just kinda throw things in front of it randomly but Neon might actually stick just because
1. Originally I chose that part as another random thing because I like the character in valorant
2. But someone pointed out to me that it kinda fits my personality and I can't explain it but I feel it does lol

When I was around 12 I played a lot of D&D. I designed a mountain top fortress/dungeon and wanted a cool sounding name. I wanted the name to reflect the airy nature of the fortress as well as sound somewhat German (always loved the name of the city of Dusseldorf) so I created Aersoldorf. 30ish years later a coworker introduced me to NationStates and I simply revived the name to use for my country's name before I realized that everyone would call me by that name on our forums. That is how I became Aersoldorf a bit over a decade ago. I find it confusing to use different names in different places so I go by Aersoldorf in all of my online dealings today.

@Aersoldorf: That's an awesome story, and it kinda reminds me of how we came up with Wintreath's name. We took Falkreath from Skyrim, changed the Falk with Win since we wanted a winter-themed region, and added the t in between cause it just sounded better that way.

Having used the name for so long, have you ever gotten bored with it or felt like changing it? I've used Wintermoot for about a decade now and I still like it, but I know others who have had their names for a lot less time say they get bored with it.

Mars came first, and that’s pretty simple (albeit a bit stupid). It’s been a nickname of mine for over a decade- I was probably 13 when it started? Mars is the lil red planet and the Roman God of War- and I was one of the shortest people in my friend group, angy, and red headed. Fun name, dumb reasoning imo. But it stuck.

Marzipan comes from that, obviously, but it’s origins are actually from back when I used to stream with my former friend. They went by Peppermint. To keep with the candy theme, Mars expanded to Marzipan. So the legend goes.
