With the uptick in Roleplay activity, I thought it would be a good time to launch this program I've been developing. Welcome to the Academy for Roleplaying Things and Stuff (ARTS)!
There are three levels to ARTS, and we are certain that one of them is suited you your needs, even if you are already an experienced Roleplayer. You do not need to complete the level below to move on to the next level if you feel confident in your abilities already.
Mentors: Ruguo, Excalibur
Snowflake Level- This level will pair you with a mentor and 2-3 other students in a group setting. This course will take about two weeks to complete, and require 6ish posts per week. In this course, you will learn:
Basic Roleplaying Terms
What to avoid when roleplaying
Character crafting (Steps 1-5)
How to craft a basic post (<400 words per post)
Constructive posting
Final exam: two posts per person in a setting of the mentor’s choice with mentor assisted characters
End goal: Be proficient at writing a basic character and posting 250 words per post average
Flurry Level- This level will pair you with a mentor and 1-2 other students. This course will take about a month to complete, with about 4 posts required per week. This course is split into two units.
Unit 1:
World interactions
Worldbuilding (Steps 1-4)
Character crafting (Steps 1-8)
Unit 2:
Mid-tier posting (400-1000 words)
Getting roleplays back on track
Final exam: Two posts per person in a world based on the mentor’s guidance with original characters
End goal: Be able to create a basic world, a motivated character, and post an average of 700 words
Blizzard Level- this level will pair you with a one on one mentor. This course is designed to take about three weeks with about 5 posts required per week.
Sensory interactions
Character crafting (Steps 1-14)
Worldbuilding (Steps 1-9)
High-tier Posting (>1000 words)
Final exam: 4 posts using the world and characters designed during the class.
End goal: Be able to build a full world, use descriptive narration, and post upwards of 1000 words per post.
Mentor Level:
This is a short, one week course that will cover the basics of mentoring and make sure that you would be up to the position. You will be meeting with the other mentors daily to review progress, and once the course is complete, you will serve as a co-mentor to one of the other mentors for one level before you can run it on your own. You must have completed the Blizzard level OR have obtained permission from the Jarl of Culture or Thane of Roleplay to enroll.
Please note, enrolling in the mentor level does not guarantee placement as a mentor and is a lot of work. If you do not have the time to complete the course in the span of a week, please let us know and we will work with you.

As of launch, I am happy to run any course desired, but the first class will have to suffer through me also learning as it goes. You may also request a private session, just you and a mentor working on your RP skills.
