As I just posted
here, the events that happened on Discord the other night, and that Melehan recorded, should be remembered and celebrated as a pivotal moment in our region's history...perhaps the most pivotal moment since the founding of the region. There's no doubt that we still have a lot of work to do on a regional and (for some of us) a deeply personal level, but whatever reconciliation and return to fellowship that we are able to realize with our lost region-mates, friends, and comrades will be in large part because this moment happened. The importance of what happened cannot be understated.
Therefore, I would like to propose that the Storting create a regional holiday in honour of what happened. I don't know what it would be named or involved, but I do know that it should happen. In the past I have said that holidays should only be created for things truly worth celebrating...if this doesn't count, I don't know what does.
Additionally, I would like to recommend that the Storting grant Laurentus an honorific title for his role these events, along with any other commendations or honours the Storting feels is appropriate. I am not specifying a title, to avoid past mistakes, but if I were to
recommend one it would be
Restitutor Orbis, or "Restorer of the World". As Aurelian earned this because of his successes in ending the Roman Empire's Crisis of the Third Century, what Laurentus started has ended what Chanku privately called the "November Crisis". I know it wasn't exactly his intent to be a peacemaker when he came in, but...perhaps circumstances chose him to be one nonetheless. I feel this is an appropriate title, but will not argue if the Storting feels that another is better suited.
