The Monarch's Sixth Ice Cream Social

Greetings to everyone running for Underhusen, everyone watching them, and everyone considering voting for them! I originally started this event because there hadn't been a steak fry for some time, and since then I've just kept doing it each election. And who wouldn't want to come to the Castle and enjoy some delicious ice cream, anyways?

This is an opportunity for candidate to talk about themselves, their ideas and opinions on the issues, and explain why they're running and why you should vote for them...while having unlimited amounts of free ice cream. So let's get this thing started!


1. First, introduce yourself, especially to voters that may not be familiar with you. Why are you running for Underhusen?

2. Are you currently involved with any other regions? If so, how so?

3. What's your favourite memory of Wintreath so far?

4. What part of the region are you most involved in at the moment?

1. So, I’m Peipr, high school student and in love with video games (Minecraft, Minecraft, Minecraft and Roblox) and… yeah, I love to be here with you guys! I’m running for Underhusen as I would like to get involved a bit more into Wintreath and want to change a couple minor things, as well as helping with anything needed.

2. I am involved with the Catalan Regions of Girona, representing my home city. I am its founder. Go check it out! (DON’T I’M JUST KIDDING)

3. The day when I first got into the Discord Server for the first time and just sharing hobbies (HUGE SHOUTOUT TO SHADOWX4LIFE, THE 1rst PERSON I INTERACTED WITH HERE).

4. Now, just chatting. Not that much, really.

5. Wintermoot, he is king and kind. ShadowX4Life, for being such a cool person.

6. Intelligence, truth and graphs.

7. Friendship. Trying to convince more people to join on the Discord Server. Also, laughs. That’s why we need a memes/jokes-only day.

8. Honestly? I think none!

9. It’s just like a family, when I turn on the PC and Discord comes in. It just makes me smile.

10. Just updating the MC server (and making it available for the poor people that run on TLauncher - *poor face*). Also, updating the website, probably.

11. I would say not now. Probably later.

12. Just think, laugh and feel like home.

13. I prefer a kind of ice cream in a shop near my home. It’s like a hot sandwich, made with Apple Pie ice cream and a bun.

I running for some influence within the region and for fun.
2. Are you currently involved with any other regions? If so, how so?
No.
3. What's your favourite memory of Wintreath so far?
Probably zday 2017
4. What part of the region are you most involved in at the moment?
Idk.
5. What one person from Wintreath's past or present would you most consider a role model for yourself, and why?
I see wintermoot as a role model. Yes you moot. You have achieved what we couldnt and showed you are capable of holding up a 360 nation region for over 7 years.

6. What do you believe you bring to the table as a potential member of the next Underhusen?

7. What do you believe is our region's biggest strength at the moment, and how would you capitalize on it?
How welcoming your recruitment telegrams are.
8. What do you believe is our region's biggest weakness at the moment, and how would you fix it if you could?
I would make a trivia channel on the server, if i was a higher member of the government.
9. What does Wintreath as a region and as a community mean to you?
Wintreath is like something so brilliant it cant be imagined vy one person.
10. If you could change one thing about Wintreath, what would it be?
I would make rmb less strict. I feel the modern restrictions are out of date because after you post one post, you cant post again until after someone else posts and that can be until 2 days from then. I feel it should be a time restriction.
11. Throughout the last few years, there has been talk on and off about the activity and the relevance of the Storting, which the Underhusen is a part of, with some calling for the legislature to be reformed or done away with entirely. What are your thoughts on this?
I think the underhusen should be kept because its the lowest form of government and its perfect for starters because it can give new members an idea of what their supposed to do.
12. Are there any other issues in the region you feel that the candidates running for election should address?
Not at the moment

I have one more thing to say. I would like to thank wintermoot for giving me a chance at getting involved with wintreath a little more.

1. I am a person of many names, male and female both, but I currently stick to Lilith/Dani/Bridgett for the most part.  I am running for Underhusen because I wanted there to be more options for the voting citizenry.  Also because now that I'm around fairly regularly, I have the ability and therefore the responsibility to be active politically.

2. I am the founder of an inactive tiny region called Fae, which is my favored puppet storage site- it does not occupy my time.  I have nations spread across many region as inactive puppets, an accurate list of which is in citizenship applications.

4. Aye, chatting be the thing for me as well, Peipr.  Mostly on discord, but I try to keep up in the forums and RMB as well.

5. I admire Pengu/Ollie for their regional contributions, but mostly for their debonair tone in conversation.  I don't know about role model though.  I prefer to be my own person in all parts of my life.

6. Chaos, borderline anarchistic ideas, and some decent grammar and logistic skills.

7. Conversation is our strength, and conversation, like a country, does its best when capitalistic government hands don't interfere too much.  The best way to help the people is to interact with the people, to know them and let them know you.

8. Wintreath apparently has a bit of a negative reputation in some regions' circles.  I think we'd benefit by having more active foreign ambassadors around mostly in the discord.  Unfortunately, we can't kidnap other regions' ambassadors via Stockholm syndrome... at least not intentionally.

9. It means I have some people who speak back when I talk to them instead of staring blankly from paper and ink.  It is a place where I can not be judged for my looks, only my attitude and words.

10. I'm good with the way it is.  The grass is always greener on the other side.  Way we are here, spray paint was definitely involved.

11. I think this happens in most mid-sized regions at some point, when new blood arrives and wants to have a hand in the foundations of the region.  I think in Sylvester Stallone voice don't go fixin what aint broken. nobody owes nobody nothin

Hi everyone! I'm Ogunbiyi6422, and I have been in Wintreath since 2017. You may recognize me from my posts on the 2020 Democratic Race to the Presidency and my dead chat thread which I posted the many interesting holidays and historical facts of the day (I may revive this if people have interest). I served on the most recent term for Underhusen and I'm running for reelection because I was disappointed that this term was a little slower and I want to at least propose my ideas to see if any debate or maybe legislature can occur. In all fairness, I was hesitant to do this in the last term because I was nervous about my newcomer status but I feel better.

2. Are you currently involved with any other regions? If so, how so?
No, Wintreath is my one and only!

3. What's your favorite memory of Wintreath so far?
I think it has to be the way we cooperated on Discord and the forums for Z-Day, because it was one of the first times I had engaged on Discord with my other Wintreans and though I made some dumb mistakes, they were really welcoming and fun.

4. What part of the region are you most involved in at the moment?
I think I have little influences in small parts of the region, mostly in the political forum of the democratic race, as I find politics really interesting. Also, I would say I have recently become more involved in the Underhusen even before I was elected in December.

5. What one person from Wintreath's past or present would you most consider a role model for yourself, and why?
I always say this and will continue to say this, Katie has always been a role model for me, she gave me the incentive to actually attempt to engage in the region politically and on discord. She has been really nice and encouraging and made me feel much more welcome to the region. Also Wintermoot has always been supportive since I joined almost 3 years ago and always gives me good advice and encouragement.

6. What do you believe you bring to the table as a potential member of the next Underhusen?
I think I could really bring a more active Wintreath with much more conversation and even debate on issues like a real lower branch of government, even if this legislature might not possibly be written at that time, just suggesting ideas and opinions can be really nice.

7. What do you believe is our region's biggest strength at the moment, and how would you capitalize on it?
I think our strength is our attractiveness to gaining new members and also our large diverse group of things you could do. I would want to continue to make Wintreath a diverse region for people with a lot of interests. Also, our discord is very lively, and many regions I have seen don't have a lot of activity.
 
8. What do you believe is our region's biggest weakness at the moment, and how would you fix it if you could?
I think our greatest weakness is getting people to become involved in our government. Last election, only 5 people ran for Underhusen and luckily we had enough people to call the term into session. I didn't really like that considering Wintreath is such a big region. Maybe we should promote running for the Underhusen more often in our forums. I feel like people in general don't like running for office because they either feel intimidated or think its too much work.

9. What does Wintreath as a region and as a community mean to you?
Wintreath really means a warm and friendly community with so many different groups and ideas and events that all make this region really inclusive and diverse and very interesting. Sometimes you can get lost in all the forums, discord chats, games, and civil service things that are available to make sure everyone is included in this great region.

10. If you could change one thing about Wintreath, what would it be?
I don't really think I would want any major changes to Wintreath, maybe a forum discussing some DOCTOR WHO 

11. Throughout the last few years, there has been talk on and off about the activity and the relevance of the Storting, which the Underhusen is a part of, with some calling for the legislature to be reformed or done away with entirely. What are your thoughts on this?
I still think that the Storting is an integral part of Wintreath and really shows our uniqueness as a functional region with law and order. However, the Storting must become a little more closer with the rest of Wintreath if the institution can survive. I think that it is still important to have this branch of legislation.

12. Are there any other issues in the region you feel that the candidates running for election should address?
I think the idea of clubs is interesting and still in development, and I hope maybe we can start promoting legislature or at least discussion on this.

13. Finally, what is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
I'm a simple man, I like just strawberry and chocolate.

14. Oh yeah, we have a toppings bar now. What's your favourite ice cream topping?

Just a thought on this proposal - while you and I may personally engage in piracy, I don't think it's a very good idea for the Wintrean government to officially support or encourage illegal behavior. That includes cracked servers.

1.I'm Excalibur, and I've been involved in the Wintrean government for almost a year now, mainly as the Thane of Roleplay. I'm running for Underhusen because, as Thane of Roleplay, I do not get a lot of opportunity to help influence the inner workings of Wintrean government. I want to expand my capacity to assist others trough leadership, and found that the Underhusen is the best way to do it.

2. I'm only involved in Wintreath!

3. My favorite memory of Wintreath so far has been N-Day this past year. I really enjoyed seeing Wintreath participate with a variety of other like-minded regions on Nationstates. I met so many new people!

4. I am most involved with roleplay and government at the moment.

5. I find that Katie as been a really great role model for me, because she is always optimistic and has a wealth of knowledge to share with others about Wintreath and Nationstates as a whole.

6. I feel that I can bring in a new citizen's view on Wintreat, as I was never actually a citizen until at least 6 months after I joined the region. I think I can help provide the viewpoint of a new citizen just getting into Wintreat, or a longtime lurker as I was when I first joined.

7. Our regions biggest strength is its openness to others and to new ideas. No matter what it is, I find that Wintreath is an open, safe space to discuss anything with anybody, making it extremely attractive to new players.

8. Our region's biggest weakness at the moment is its specialization. I find that Wintreath is amazing for talking with others, however, I feel like a number of things we have done to expand our focus have been neglected, either due to lack of government support or lack of citizen support. Examples include roleplay, forum games, and the Minecraft server. I hope to fix this, at least partially, by working to expand Wintreath's roleplay community.

9. Wintreath has really shaped my online career through the overwhelming support members of the community give to one another. As one of my first online communities I have been a part of, it has really impacted how I interact with others online, I feel for the better. I have been in the Wintreath Discord server longer than any other one, and I have really been influenced by the welcoming and overall optimistic community.

10. I would try to fix the problems I mentioned in number 8, but other than that, nothing else!

11. I do believe that the Storting should play a more visible role in the region, however, I am at a loss as to how this could be done.

Aside from the fact that I always run for Underhusen (seriously), I'm running because I have things I wish to do.

2. Are you currently involved with any other regions? If so, how so?

Aside from Wintreath, I am involved primarily in Warzone Europe as their Chancellor and Lazarus as Deputy Director of Public Relations (Read: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and WA Affairs). Neither are really going to interfere with my duties here really.

3. What's your favourite memory of Wintreath so far?

Aside from everything good in the Storting, probably my best memory is the acceptance of the community when I came out.

4. What part of the region are you most involved in at the moment?

The Underhusen and Community Honestly.

5. What one person from Wintreath's past or present would you most consider a role model for yourself, and why?

WIntermoot, he's been here for longer than I have and has always been there for me.

6. What do you believe you bring to the table as a potential member of the next Underhusen?

I'm experienced and knowledgeable, I know these laws like the back of my hand.

7. What do you believe is our region's biggest strength at the moment, and how would you capitalize on it?

At the moment, I'm honestly not sure.

8. What do you believe is our region's biggest weakness at the moment, and how would you fix it if you could?

Activity and Integration. Integration being the most 'pressing' issue in my opinion. I can't do much in the Underhusen to be quite honest though.

9. What does Wintreath as a region and as a community mean to you?

"liberty. equality, fraternity" these three words sum up what Wintreath means to me. Wintreath is a place where I can be free and be myself, it is remarkably fair and equal to everyone and nearly everyone is given a chance here. We are in many ways a big family. While we may not always get along, or particularly like each other, we do have each other's backs.

10. If you could change one thing about Wintreath, what would it be?

Make me the Underhusen.

I am against reform. Personally, I just like the Underhusen and I've contributed to it a lot.

1. First, introduce yourself, especially to voters that may not be familiar with you. Why are you running for Underhusen?
Hi, I'm Mathyland, usually known as just Mathy. I love math, science, video games, and being pedantic. I am running for Underhusen because I'm interested in government (at least on the small scale of an internet forum), and I believe I can help the region with whatever it decides it needs. The UH doesn't have a good history of having things to do, but I'd like to be able to help if the region needs the UH's service.

2. Are you currently involved with any other regions? If so, how so?
Nope. Just Wintreath.

3. What's your favourite memory of Wintreath so far?
It's not a specific memory, but all the fun we've had roleplaying in the Discord, having spam wars, playing werewolf, and the like.

4. What part of the region are you most involved in at the moment?
The Discord and the spam section, but I've been active in forum games and the UH section in the past. I'm not active in them right now since there's no werewolf going on, and I'm not currently in the UH. The point is that I've been interacting with the community, mostly through the Discord and the ama section. I'm trying to get to know how the community has changed since the last time I was active.

5. What one person from Wintreath's past or present would you most consider a role model for yourself, and why?
It's hard to pick one person since we have some good role models here. Wintreath is a community with many people who have been through stuff and support each other. There are too many role models to pick one.

6. What do you believe you bring to the table as a potential member of the next Underhusen?
A knowledge of the community. I'm happy that so many new members are giving the UH a try, and I think that will enhance it; however, it is good to have some more experienced Skrifa that know the community's history well. Also, I bring grammar and POTATOES to the table.

7. What do you believe is our region's biggest strength at the moment, and how would you capitalize on it?
In my opinion, the region's biggest strength has been its inclusivity and support that make members feel welcome and valued.

8. What do you believe is our region's biggest weakness at the moment, and how would you fix it if you could?
Integration of new members, but as Wintermoot has pointed out, there have been a few members that seem fitting for a Thane of Integration-like role. To be honest, I can't really do much about it since I would not be active enough for such a demanding role. If I could do something about it, I'd continue to make new members feel welcome and point them in a starting direction based on what they're interested in. We've done a good job of this before; we just need a dedicated position for it.

9. What does Wintreath as a region and as a community mean to you?
For me, it's just fun to roleplay games and Potato wars. Similarly, I find it fun to act as a government role. Random fun on the Discord and werewolf games also appeal to me. I know this region is a place of support and venting for others, but it's not really that for me. This might mean I offer a different perspective from that of the other candidates.

10. If you could change one thing about Wintreath, what would it be?
BURN THE HERETICS

It's still a neat part of the region, and doing away with it wouldn't be a better option, in my opinion. Also, at least to me, being in the UH is fun!

12. Are there any other issues in the region you feel that the candidates running for election should address?
I think we should figure out what the future of clubs is, but that doesn't have to be addressed right now.

Chocolate. I'm boring.

Do you believe becoming a Skrifa would help you expand Wintreath's roleplay community?
If so, how would you use your position to achieve this goal?

I do believe that becoming a Skrifa will help me expand Wintreath's roleplay community. As Thane, I'm currently working with the Jarl of Culture to create a roleplay "curriculum" to teach new citizens how to roleplay. After this is finished, and we see if it can work, I hope to create a casual rolelay set in the Wintrean universe, where people can pop in and out at any time; maybe even using a "crossdimensional" sort of thing so that people are not restrained by the bounds of the land of Wintreath. As Skrifa, I hope to be able to actively "advertise" (in a sense) Wintreath's roleplay community. When the aforementioned projects are completed, Wintreath should have a strong foundation to build upon for more roleplay opportunites. From your above statement, it seems that you feel strongly about the roleplay aspects of the community and have had many fun  memories there. I would be happy to hear your input on anything we're currently working on .
