Hello, sorry about my inactivity which has been continuing. It is hard starting a new university, especially when you are doing a lot of exploring on campus.
If I were to somehow conjure up some time for some game nights by fighting through my current and future mess of homework (not that bad yet but I am not holding my breath for that to change); what games would you all be most interested in playing together?
No this is not just going to be a Jackbox suggestion thread though that is a possibility. I am here to suggest other games as well.
Recently I have started playing more Civ 5 though that will probably decline again. If anyone wanted to watch or join in, I could try (again) to figure out streaming and show you how not to play Ark: Survival Evolved, Bastion, Civ 5, or Borderlands 2 (or I could try playing seriously and still show you how not to play some of those games
![Laugh :))](https://wintreath.com/forums/Smileys/newdefault/laugh.gif)
). Anybody who could join in any of the games would be welcome to join in.
If we actually got enough players together at once we could run our own game of Town of Salem which could be interesting since there would be plenty of challenges there such as guessing who is masquerading by what name (if you decide to that, I certainly would) along with trying to hide intentions from people you interact with a bit on here, Discord, NationStates, or some combination thereof and the usual challenges presented by that game.
Eventually I plan to make a whole .io games topic with information and links to a lot of places where they are but for now I should explain how they can be good for both game nights and casual gaming. There are many of these games many with varied themes some even with very different playstyles from the others. They involve playing on servers which are often either packed or devoid of other players which makes finding a nice balance of players in one of them challenging. Agar.io was what started it all and then others came along with some of these other early ones being Slither.io, Wings.io, Mope.io, and Deeeep.io. These five have a similar format: get stronger, defeat other players, get stronger, and grow to become a top player on that server. Agar.io has the theme of cells eating each other and particles, Slither.io has the theme of snakes roaming around eating particles and trying to have other snakes collide with them, Wings.io has the theme of fighter jets flying around collecting weapons in order to shoot each other out of the sky and shoot up the occasional ship, Mope.io and Deeeep.io both have the theme of animals eating various food sources and attacking each other with the main difference being that Mope.io is more fantasy themed and more focused on land animals while Deeeep.io is more focused on real sea creatures. Since then there have been many more .io games (not all of them end in .io) with even more variety but what they all have in common is that they are free to play and they are (usually) pvp games.
I will have a poll up here for at least a week with the aforementioned options available and multiple choices and others. Go ahead and pick some of the preferences. I am open to other game suggestions. Hopefully some more game nights will happen.
