I forgot to put this in the last post but in order to prevent too big of an advantage for the teams that go first (this should make it more fun for all).  I am going to put an arbitrary restriction on the use of abilities until at least Turn 3 and Team Attacks until at least Turn 6.

I realize that I was a bit sudden with starting this so I will extend this first round until 4 PM on Saturday the 16th Pacific Time.

Here's what happened in Round 1:

Copycat pulled out a rocket launcher and fired it twice at Captain Atom.  The impact of the rockets surprisingly caused him to wince and the explosions knocked him down for 7 damage.

Ruby Thursday made herself ready to move if attacked.

Wonder Man relaxed but looked alert.

Red Tornado flew at Animal Vegetable Mineral Man and swung one of its fists only hitting one of his arms for 6 damage.  The doctor reeled back in obvious pain but quickly recovered.

Namor ran at Magik and stomped on one of her feet dealing 4 damage.

Animal Vegetable Mineral Man morphed into a Saguaro cactus anticipating more attacks.

Magik did not move as some small spines from the transformed cactus were blown by a sudden gust of wind into her hair from a blindside.  She felt this and tried to get them out of her hair by brushing with her hand with predictable results.  She took 5 damage from the pain of the spines sticking to her hand and her ripping them out.

Snowflame tensed himself to be ready if attacked.

The wings on Wasp's suit expanded so she could fly away if attacked.

Scarlet Witch shut her eyes and sent a small hex randomly, it bounced off a tree branch (shattering it) in the direction of Ruby Thursday.  Ruby dove to her right but the blast still grazed her for 3 damage.

Plastic Man looked at Wonder Man and walked to a tree stump in front of him.  He ripped it out of the ground and swung it at Wonder Man who saw it coming and swung his arm to intercept the stump.  Simon's arm shattered the stump but the impact was harder than he expected dealing 4 damage.

Captain Atom raised an arm and fired a beam of light at Wonder Man who just stood there.  He laughed as it only tickled but briefly choked for 1 damage.

If you do not specify a target for your attack (or ability when used), I will randomly select a target the same way the NPCs have a target randomly selected.  Also I was lenient on the actions but I won't be so lenient once abilities start being used; Bold your action(s) and make any targets clear.

Round 2 will end around 10 PM Pacific Time on January 18th.

Here's what happened in Round 2:

Plastic Man did some quick stretching getting ready to dodge.

Animal Vegetable Mineral Man transformed from a Saguaro into a hummingbird and flew towards Namor.  He landed on his head and transformed into a Crested porcupine and stuck some quills into his mouth resulting in 6 damage.  Then he dropped off, transformed back to his human self and backed away.

Wasp raised her blasters facing Namor, walked up to him and sent some bioelectricity into his eyes dealing 7 damage.

Wonder Man rushed Captain Atom and punched him a few times sending him sliding.  He also blasted the Captain with some ionic energy dealing 10 damage.

Magik continued to remain relatively idle, a strange thing bounced off of her for 1 damage.  This thing then turned into a man and apologized before running towards a boulder and turning back into a balloon or ball shaped person and bouncing off the boulder, back in the direction he came from.

A member of the Legion of Superheroes (a DC group like Teen Titans but more unique) named Chuck Taine

Scarlet Witch blasted Captain Atom towards the horizon for 9 damage.  He eventually flew back to where he was and glared at her.

Ruby Thursday turned her head into a rifle which lit up a few times as she fired some bullets at Scarlet Witch which didn't pierce her but noticeably zapped her instead dealing 8 damage.

Captain Atom made a boulder using his ability to create matter and broke it into jagged pieces.  He then flew at Magik and stabbed her with the jagged rock fragments dealing 8 damage.

Red Tornado started hovering a foot above the ground waiting.

Snowflame walked up to Plastic Man and sucker punched him twice.  The second did nothing but the first briefly made Plastic Man flinch dealing 3 damage.  Plastic Man exaggerated the flinch by stretching his neck a few yards behind him then returned his head.

Namor flew towards Magik and swung the bottom of his trident hitting her for 7 damage.

Copycat just crouched in preparation.

Here's what happened in Round 3:

Snowflame prepared himself for incoming attacks.

Animal Vegetable Mineral Man did nothing as a pinkish portal appeared behind him and a woman who appeared to be made of diamonds walked towards him and slapped him upside the head dealing 4 damage, then returned to the portal.

Captain Atom concentrated and a field appeared around Animal Vegetable Mineral Man but there were no afflictions to remove so nothing else happened.

Two tentacles formed from the top of Ruby Thursday's head which stretched out and whipped Namor and Wasp repeatedly for 5 and 4 damage respectively.  Eventually some sparks gathered around the two while the tentacles withdrew back towards Ruby's head.

Scarlet Witch forced some of Magik's armor to form on her body and crumpled it, crushing the trapped body parts for 7 damage before Magik fixed the armor.

Plastic Man stretched his hands towards Snowflame while altering their size, shape, and density so that the fingers had a cutting edge.  He then spun the fingers quickly once they were near Snowflame.  Snowflame was ready to jump sideways to avoid them but one of his arms lost some of its skin because he was still caught by some of the fingers taking 3 damage.  This also caused some bleeding.  Plastic Man then returned his hands back to their regular state and location.

Magik summoned her sword and rushed Namor, smashing the pommel on his face dealing 6 damage.  She also pulled out a flask of medicine and downed it restoring 15 health.

Copycat concentrated changing her appearance to that of the Spider Man villain Electro, then sent a withering blast of electricity to Red Tornado dealing 9 damage.  She then changed back to her regular appearance.

Wonder Man turned his body into a form made of ionic energy, then flew towards Plastic Man and tied him up as best as he could.  He then blasted him with that energy dealing 8 damage with Plastic Man uncoiling himself as a result.

Red Tornado concentrated on his body and circuitry causing some mechanical and machinery noises to be heard as he repaired the damage he had taken so far.

Namor used his trident to summon some water which carried the Horn of Proteus.  After he blew the horn, the ground rumbled as an enormous humanoid whale like creature walked towards Namor.  He telepathically ordered it to attack Wasp and Magik.  It bent down on four limbs and bit Wasp dealing 17 damage while Magik was stepped on for 6 damage.

Wasp raised both of her gauntlets and sent small but significant blasts of electricity at Namor and Scarlet Witch dealing 4 and 5 damage respectively.  She then shrunk and took flight in case anyone was about to attack.  No one else was though so she landed near where she had been standing.

The sparks from Ruby Thursday's earlier attack then shocked Namor and Wasp for 3 more damage.

Sorry about the delay again.  The next round should close at 11 pm on Sunday November 24th Pacific Time.

We have seen the first abilities and healing occur of the game.  Wonder how many actions are going to end up being cancelled considering how many abilities have that as an effect.   I also may end up changing the name Handmixers to something more generic.  I can explain confusion caused by some of the results of these actions if necessary.  The first bookmark is just the Original Post on this topic while the second is the one where abilities have been described, clarified, and updated.

Round 4 will be extended for up to 2 days until Wednesday January 27.  I just noticed an issue with submitted actions.  This post should explain the issue for those who submitted Team Attacks (sorry about that ).

Because of this issue, the round will be extended so planning can happen and also to resubmit actions.  It would not be right for me to allow the planned Team Attacks to go through when I already said this.  If everyone uses them that turn, everyone will have equal initiative.

The rules on Team Attacks are up to date in the bookmarked (Bookmark #1) OP of this thread.  To summarize them: Team Attacks require agreement between all players and all characters on that team have to be able to perform actions that turn (meaning an ability that cancels actions will disrupt the Team Attack).  I will be lenient there by allowing the Team Attack to still go through just with that character's contribution eliminated (if their action is cancelled).  Your targets for the Team Attack are the team that you want to attack.  Some characters do not attack the whole team with their contribution but a significant proportion of the characters in this game do attack the whole targeted team with their contribution.  Also keep in mind that the initiative means the contributions to the Team Attack don't happen simultaneously (which could make it easier to disrupt them).  For reminders of how your NPC teammates will contribute and also what everyone's abilities can do check Bookmark #2.  I will Bookmark this post.

Those are definitely going to take a while to calculate.  Speaking of calculations, if anyone is interested in being an assistant for performing these calculations, let me know (preferably someone who is not already signed up for this game).  My RNG may be flawed, plus that is time consuming but it is fun to write up the results and look up characters to see how to apply they could perform the actions.

Edit: The PM issue for Red Mones has been fixed for now.  Sorry I didn't say anything about that earlier, I hadn't noticed the posts until after it was fixed.

If you're interested in a recommendation, I found anydice's interface (using the Roller option) most friendly to get results quickly.

Yeah sorry about that.  Werewolf and school have occupied my time.  I will try to have this round up before next week.

Also I may extend the round times after this one.  Any suggestions on how long?

48 hours are long enough in my opinion. Might just need to give people a nudge if it gets toward the end of the phase and they haven't done anything yet.

Here is what happened in Round 4.

Snowflame's wound had bled enough between this and the previous turn that he took 4 damage.  The wounds then mysteriously closed up.

Magik summoned her Soul Sword and magical armor.  She lit the sword on fire with her magic and slashed it at Namor causing a mark to appear on him.

Ruby Thursday's head started expanding and visibly charging up.  Suddenly it detached itself and was launched towards Scarlet Witch.  She reflexively caught it as it exploded dealing 9 damage.  Another head then grew on Ruby Thursday.

Scarlet Witch gathered her energy for half a minute and then encased Wasp with it.  She then launched her skywards where the momentum took her to the mesosphere.  A blue figure appeared nearby and placed a bubble around her.  He introduced himself as Jon Ostermann and they started talking.

Animal Vegetable Mineral Man continued to simply stand around so he did not notice the suspicious clay that was thrown at him and started spreading once it him.  He managed to break out of it by transforming himself into some bacteria.  The clay had started to smother him before he transformed and he took 4 damage.

Red Tornado stood there but powered up its sensors and did some small twirling with its fingers.

Snowflame pulled out a white bag and ripped it over his face.  The bag was quickly revealed to not be white since the white ended up mostly disappearing around his nose.  Some fire then erupted from Snowflame as he started cackling.

Wasp would have flown back to the ground but Scarlet Witch still had a hold on her and Ostermann's bubble was keeping her safe from the atmosphere around her so she kept talking with him.

Namor looked around and seeing a nearby lake, he started concentrating.  He then jumped and started flying towards Magik, punching her on arrival.  After punching her, he lifted her and flew over to the same lake, then dropped her inside.  The water quickly turned red because of some piranhas he had called over to that lake.  All of this resulted in Magik taking 7 damage.  Magik eventually managed to slash through enough piranhas to clear a way out of the lake now sporting some cuts.

Copycat's appearance began to flicker as she prepared to change form in case she was attacked.

Plastic Man grew and stretched his hands then sent them near Namor.  He then started clapping which made enough of a racket that everyone started covering their ears while Namor was stumbling around since the claps were closest to him and producing shockwaves.  He even walked into a few of the claps taking 7 damage throughout the ordeal.

Captain Atom started forming a bubble around himself anticipating an attack.

Wonder Man flew into the air to so he could see incoming attacks coming.

Scarlet Witch then started catching her breath after pulling her energy back to the ground.  Wasp suddenly was launched from the bubble but Dr. Manhattan (Jon Ostermann) simply followed her and kept the bubble around her until she was a mile above the ground where it disappeared.  On impact, Wasp was sent ten feet underground but she had heard plenty of cracks during both stages of the launch.  Eventually she was able to fly out of the ground having taken 10 damage.
