Political parties is a huge no for me, for all the reasons stated before.
I'm also against the two tiers of basic citizenship. It just seems like a random barrier for entry, and does nothing but hurt newer citizens. Honestly, as long as the UH has the ability to overrule the Citizenry, I don't think raiders should be a problem. Checks and balances and all that. Though a 75% supermajority could arguably go through and be fine.
The other thing I definitley disagree with is going completely autocratic. I have nothing against Moot whatsoever, but I still do think that we should keep at least somewhat democratic, no matter if we stay with the system we have now or change it up. Besides, the very fact that we are a republic shows that this was what Moot wanted anyways.
I haven't made my decision just yet, but wanted to throw out my opinions on what's being discussed while I consider it.

Yeah, I don't mind those tiered requirements as long as there's plenty of agreement on what they should be. You'd still get to vote as a new citizen, you'd just need to invest more time into the community before your votes carry more weight. Seems to make sense to me, though it does go a little against our "welcoming to all new people" policy by design (but then again, an open assembly does allow for more welcomeness(?) to newbies than we do now since they'd have a vote in the first place, so that offsets it).

On replacing the Storting with the Monarchy: I'm not against this idea either since Wintermoot has proven to be more than capable and already deals with a lot already. I'd just want to make sure he is willing since he already invests a lot of time in Wintreath. But I suppose he'd have the ability to delegate those responsibilities, too. Guess it just depends on if we want to use the UH as a means for status and advancement since a full monarchy would allow for greater stability and efficiency, but there'd be one less avenue for newcomers to make a name for themselves (but then again, is the UH even useful for new citizens anymore?) #BID?

So basically, I prefer any of the other three options to the current system.

I mean, obviously as the one who proposed the tiered idea to begin with, I'm quite fond of it, but it's thoroughly dead in the water now. It's served its purpose, though, since there's once again interest in changing the system.

Well, that's interesting, isn't it. The idea to keep the current system alive got only 30% of the votes.

I think that pretty much forces us to reevaluate the system we're using. Granted, this all means absolutely nothing if we can't form some sort of consensus, because with the way things are now, if this were to get to a ratification vote in the next election, we'd end up pretty much at the same place as 2016.

Still, though, the presupposition was that there was no interest in changing the system. This proves that assumption to be incorrect.

Alright, so on to next steps: see if people would choose either to keep the UH or to move to an open assembly if those are the only two choices.

@Wuufu, @Wintermoot or @AJ, could one of you please properly reset the poll? I can't get it to start over again.

Oh, and for the record, the Open Assembly had 8 votes, the current system 6, the idea to move the power to the monarch exclusively 5, and the tiered system 1 (LOL). That left the current system with 30% of the vote, and the Open Assembly 40%.

For the record, I don't have any powers outside the Overhusen forum. So I can't assist with this particular endeavour.

I would suggest perhaps starting a new thread for the new poll though? Partly to keep previous poll results (though it might be too late for that), but also as it's the easiest way of starting a new poll.

Interesting that the results are now 8 in favor of the current system and 6 for an OA, which is the opposite of the previous poll.
