Hello, I am Excalibur and I am running for Thane of Roleplay. I'm running because I feel that I am enthusiastic for role-play and am an avid role-player myself, which helps me . I am currently in the Fighting Thirteenth roleplay (which is currently on hold sadly) and am planning on running a space-based roleplay in the near future. I plan to accomplish several things over my term:

1: Get people interested in roleplay and revive the roleplay community
2: Keep the current roleplays moving through reminders to participants to participate
3: Increase the technological and time period diversity of the RPs through starting new ones

I don't have much experience as a thane in Wintreath, but am eager to learn and excited to participate in this great community. I play D&D on a regular basis with some other, dedicated individuals in real life and participate (and manage) other RPs in other regions in Nation States. I will use this knowledge to help fulfill my duties and go above and beyond with any extra time I can scrape together.

Because of my busy schedule, I have formulated a detailed plan to set aside at least 15 minutes each day to fulfilling my duties in an efficient and timely manner and use my weekends and school holidays to dedicate towards my position.

I am currently Dungeon Master in Where the future is behind the moon region and am starting the regional RP there as well as participating in the RP in The Fallout Wasteland.

Seriously though, I'm quite excited to see what you can provide for this region! Your experience is relevant to the position and you seem to be a rising member of this community.

One question though: do you think that 15 minutes a day, weekends, and holidays will be enough time? Surely you can increase that time to an hour or so, right? I personally find it difficult to force myself into a schedule like that, and I often end up doing duties for my position simply when I have some free time.

I would agree that a schedule like this, setting aside such little time every day, is often difficult to meet. But I don't think that devoting an hour to it daily is necessarily necessary. It really depends on the position and what you want to do with the Thaneship, which would lead to different schedules in both layout and time.

I said at least 15 minutes a day. I will certainly be able to expand this and even do more in my free time. I'm not devoting just 15 minutes, the minimum I set for myself was 15 minutes.

An interesting question! I have two possible explanations for this:

1: Not enough time. We all have very busy lives. We can't all spend all our precious free time on Wintreath (no matter how awesome it may be). Some people just don't have the time to post regularly and therefore are discouraged from RPing. My solution is to encourage people that it's oaky to take a day or two off, as long as you still continue.

2: Not enough interest. Not many people are interested in RPing. Either they find it too complicated, don't have enough time (see 1), or don't like what's going on. My solution to this is to "advertise" a little bit. Encouraging people to RP or to start their own ones with their interests would be one way to combat this.

Curious. Well, here's my solution. I'll answer it in the order you went in.

2: This leads me to a third conclusion I have made; too complicated/. I theorize that many people just find the task of RPing too daunting to find where to start. I think it would be helpful to create a "Getting Started Guide", which answers frequently asked questions and outlines proper RP format/usual rules.

1: I think that RPers can be encouraged that even if they didn't post in a while, they still can post and nobody will be angry at them. Some even forget possibly, and just need a reminder to post once in a while.
