Greetings, new Underhusen! Now that the election is finally over, we need to go about the business of selecting a new Speaker. Over the next 48 hours, please post here if you are interested in standing for Speaker...afterwards we will have a 48 hour election to determine who it will be unless only one person stands.

I nominate Chanku, because he does a better job of this than anyone, but also wish to make it plain that I will not sit by idly if he takes too much of an iron-fist approach, as per his campaign.

I accept the nominations and thus, I stand for Speaker.

I'll voice my support of Chanku but reiterate Laurentus's point as well. I will be on my toes in anticipation of Chanku's proposes reforms.

Well, looks like Chanku is the Speaker then. Congrats!

Now before we begin this session, let me thank all of my fellow Skrifa for allowing me to continue to be the Speaker of the Underhusen. Now onto what I wish to say before we start this session.

As many of you know, I campaigned on reforms, and a continuation of activity. While I do realize that we were not entirely elected, as we were the only candidates, I still expect all Skrifa to act no differently than if there had been an election. Some of the Goals that I set for this term were simple: reform of some areas of our laws and a review of the Offices of the Underhusen and the potential establishment of new offices that we would benefit from. Some of the goals are going to be more contentious, such as Judicial changes, electoral changes, and changes in the powers and responsibilities of the Speaker. However, we all must remember that we are Wintreans and we have been given the honour of representing our fellow Wintreans as Skrifa. We are here for the betterment of our region. We must not let petty squabbles hinder us, and we must put behind us the prior session and begin this with fresh minds.

I do hope that the Underhusen can be productive this session, and hopefully can accomplish at least some of what I, and all of you, set out to do in this session. I have high hopes in the session and I do hope that you all join me.
