Over the last few months, I've noticed that a few people who wanted to post Citizenship apps couldn't find the new topic button, so I made some changes that will hopefully make it easier to find. The button links have been changed to actual buttons, made slightly larger, and moved to the left side of the screen (swapping with page links). I've also removed the send this topic button, because it literally just sent a link to the topic which you could copy and paste into your own email, so I felt it was probably unused clutter.

I'm finding the location of the buttons (and page links, perhaps more so) somewhat disorienting, though I supposed I'll get used to it eventually.

Edit: yeah I think I've trained my eyes to scan the bottom left corner to see what page I'm on and I keep getting confused thinking that this topic/subforum only has a single page

I'm used to lower right from elsewhere,so it works well for me.

Might actually also have been a good idea to add a type of video guide for those looking to register.

Oh! I hadn't seen the actual buttons because I never realized that that was a change and didn't clear my cache.

Now that I do see the buttons, my thoughts on those:

I like the buttons in general, though I do find the gold color scheme a little garish (for the lack of a better word). It's used well on the borders of the page, I think, but for me at least, having so much of it so close together on the buttons is maybe a bit much. It is kinda growing on me though.

Could the page navigation buttons see a similar treatment? Now that the other buttons are larger and more prominent, these seem out of place.
And if one of the concerns is that new people can't find the buttons, I think having the page navigation so deemphasized (both small and squished to the right side) will probably create a similar issue (we recently had trouble helping someone find the page navigation buttons on the NS forums over on NH, and those even have buttons (albeit small ones).

@Wintermoot could we get page navigation buttons on the bottom of subforum pages again? At first I thought it might have always been this way, but I've gradually realized that it couldn't have been (I do not remember ever needing to go through the annoyance of scrolling back up to go to the next page before, and I just now confirmed that there used to be subforum page navigation on the bottom too). Thanks!

Hmm now the text feels far too large, especially compared to other similarly-styled text/links and also in comparison to the now much-smaller text of the buttons... I know that height-wise the text is actually of similar height to the buttons but since it's the text size that's that large rather than a button wrapper it actually feels far larger.

I'm definitely glad to see the page nav buttons back at the bottom of subforums, thank you very much for that.

But I've changed the styling again...maybe it'll be more to your liking. Ctrl+F5 may be needed again to view the changes in Chrome.

Yes, the border colour was changed a bit.

For the new style pageview buttons on topics, it's not possible to click the ... button indefinitely and view all pages anymore. (This functionality is still preserved on subforums when viewing the lists of topics.)

I was going to post this in the mobile theme thread, but then I tested it on desktop site and noticed it happening here too (albeit less egregiously).
