  • Morvaridite during the War

The Scene: In a small, scrapped-together scout ship 100 thousand miles above the Earth's atmosphere, 5508 years ago.

Larimar: Our window closes in 55 seconds. We either make it or break it y'all!
Garnet: Everyone, be ready! This mission is critically important.
Ruby 3TT: *turns to Morvaridite* What was the mission again?
Morvaridite: *with a straight face looking forward* To infiltrate the emerald ship, retrieve the information they're keeping on the rebellion, and neutralize the crew so that they don't try anything. Larimar is our technician, Garnet and I are primaries, and you and Amethyst 2FB are secondaries.

    *the Ruby looks nervous*

G: Not to worry Ruby. This ship should only have a couple dozen gems on it. It's a simple in and out mission. But, be prepared for the worst.
*the bay door opens revealing the large green spaceship a few hundred meters below them.*
G: 10 seconds everyone! We jump on my word.

*Larimar can be heard in the background scrapping together various technology and putting it into her gem.*

*Garnet counts down. The team's eyes are full of a flaming determination.*

    G: JUMP!

*The team jumps at breakneck speed towards the ship. A mere 5 seconds later they crash through the ceiling of the ship. Immediately fighting ensues with a group of Peridots. Morvaridite and Garnet form a formidable 2 person team and fight off the Peridots efficiently and ruthlessly while the Ruby and Amethyst escort Larimar down the corridor. *

*while bubbling peridots afterwards, Morvaridite taps Garnet's shoulder*
    G: You may speak.
M: You and I make an amazing combo. are you certain we can't fuse sometime? Morvaridite winks.
G: *straight faced* we will fuse someday, should the occasion arise. For now you are right: we do fight well together. We haven't needed to fuse yet, after all. *Garnet smirks*

    *Suddenly an alarm sounds.*

G: They know we're here! We have to move!

*M and G run down the flashing corridors towards the bridge of the ship.*
*Meanwhile, in a utility closet, Larimar is hooked up via various machines and wiring to the ship's computer system. Ruby and Amethyst guard the door outside.*

G: Morvaridite, go find Larimar! I'll take on the bridge alone.
M: But Garnet, you said it yourself. We're better together!
G: But I know how you are. There may be a gem up there that you CANNOT HANDLE.

*Morvaridite stands and thinks for a few seconds.*

G: Go find them. We don't have time to sit around and question my decisions in the heat of battle.

*Garnet runs off one way, and Morvaridite runs off the other. In the distance she can hear Garnet fighting off more gems. Mixed emotions coarse through her mind.*
*Morvaridite runs up to Ruby and Amethyst, who open the closet door.*

L: I've gotten into the information systems, and it doesn't look good.
M: You can tell us later. Ruby, Amethyst, stay with Larimar until she can download her data and then come to the bridge! Garnet will need as much help as she can get.

*As M runs to the bridge, Ruby and Amethyst look conflicted as to what to do. Larimar assures them it's okay and that the data download will be quick.*
*The bridge is quiet, as Peridots watch the door. An Emerald and her Hessonite are paying close eye to the computer systems. Suddenly, Garnet busts through the door.*

G: You! It is time to rectify your actions!

*Garnet leaps quickly at the Emerald, but the Hessonite quickly intervenes and becomes interlocked in an intense one-on-one battle. Meanwhile, 3 Peridots fuse and attempt to attack Garnet, but she holds them off as well.*
*Morvaridite can hear the fighting as she approaches the busted bridge door. She draws her weapon in preparation to fight, but when she reaches the door, she stops dead in her tracks. Garnet looks over at her.*

G: Morvaridite! Get out of here! This is not your fight!

*Morvaridite is frozen, her mouth agape. She stutters and freezes. She is staring at the Hessonite. Garnet loses her focus long enough for the Peridots to gain an opening. They use their stasis powers to incapacitate Garnet.*

    G: *screaming angrily* Morvaridite!!

    *The Hessonite sees Morvaridite.*

Hessonite: Well well. Look at this. A pearl who thinks she can fight.

*She walks up to Morvaridite, who is still stuttering and frozen in her place.*

H: Why are you so flustered? You look as if you're knelt before the Diamonds themselves.
    M: I... m-my master was a H-Hessonite.
H: Hmm, and did you admire her?
M: *Tearing up* I did admire her! More than anyone!

    *the Hessonite laughs*

H: I've never seen something like this. How.... pathetic.

*Hessonite kicks Morvaridite in her chest, sending her flying against the wall behind her.*
*From the side, Ruby and Amethyst charge in and attack the Hessonite.*
*Larimar comes in behind them, and stops short of the door. She looks at Morvaridite, who is lying on the floor motionless, tears rolling out of her eyes. Larimar kneels down and puts her hand on M's shoulder.*

  • Morvaridite and Berryite's relationship

Morvaridite:   Well people like to paint the relationship I have with Berryite in a negative light. People see me mourning the loss of my Hessonite and then me being "meh" around Berryite and they say "oh well she obviously cares about someone she lost than someone she has been with for far longer."

And then they point out how different our personalities are. They describe our dynamic like "If Yellow Diamond insisted she was in a relationship with Pink Diamond" and how it shouldn't work and how it doesn't work and all this stuff. And then they point out that Berryite almost never speaks publicly and she's very reclusive and how I "steal the spotlight." Well, Berri would you mind telling them why they're incorrect about that?

Berryite:   Certainly. Morri and I have known eachother for... 5,226 years. 4,000 years or so of that we spent alone together without any contact from any other intelligent being. Every single day in those 4,000 years, we spent as an unstoppable team. We were there for eachother, we moved mountains together, and if one of us got poofed the other of us wouldn't leave until we reformed.

We still are an unstoppable team. That hasn't diminished at all. Morvaridite takes pride and joy in going out and taking action, but when she comes back in, I'm waiting there for her. Every single day she comes back and we both talk, for hours on end sometimes, about what we did that day. Hell, we did it last night, and we'll probably do it again tonight.

Morvaridite is an extrovert by nature. She takes energy from interacting with people constantly. But I'm introverted. I like to sit and look out the window at the clouds in the sky, or read a book, or watch Morri give a speech on the news. The reason y'all don't see me is because I chose to live that way, and Morri chose to live that way.

Our personalities are different, yes. Morvaridite is a doer. She derives purpose from her actions. She is a very commanding presence, which is all much like her former Diamond. And I, regardless of my towering size and my strength, am a quiet and contemplative type, much like my former Diamond.

So when people compare us to Yellow and Pink diamond, they're right. Except they're not exactly right, cuz I was Blue's court, and also cuz when Morri and I are together, we don't clash, but we complete eachother instead. I bring her down to Earth at the same time as she lifts me up from under the rocks.

Now, people've been saying that Morri cares about her Hessonite more than she cares about me. Like she implied, people think that she isn't intimate or romantic enough with me. And on that they're right. She isn't very romantic or intimate with me, but here's the thing: I don't need her to be. She is romantic and intimate with me when she knows I need it, or when she needs it from me. We've gotten past that part of our relationship where we fantasize about eachother every day and go crazy about wedding plans, or... fusion plans, in our case. That's the reason we aren't fused permanently, like I am: we don't need to be to complete eachother. My gems are different because they feel completed as me. It's all about what completes us inside. What fills that gap that's been left open is important, whether it was opened by the loss of a former master, or it had been open your whole life.

I don't feel like I'm at liberty to talk about Morri's Hessonite. She knows so much more about the whole thing than anyone else but... I can try. Morvaridite was created to be a loyal follower of anyone she was assigned to; a servant. Most of her owners abused her cuz of how she looked or how she acted or how her voice sounded nothing like any of the other servants, but Hessonite was different. Hessonite was a benevolent leader for Morri, and she was so grateful for it, and has been ever since. Hessonite completed her in a way I don't think I ever could, and Morri has told me that if she could just see her one more time, she'd want to become a fusion with her and stay that way. It's like if I lost one half of me: my other half would never get over it, even if she found new love, and even if that love was as true as the stars in the sky.

Phew. That was alot of talking, but I think that covers that question.

Morvaridite: Thank you so much Berri. *Morri stands on her tip toes and kisses Berryite on the cheek, who blushes*

  • The Emergence of Morvaridite
On Homeworld, a planet in another galaxy, the camera zooms in onto a random orange spot on a gigantic wall of smooth, shining, rainbow rock. Suddenly it glows, and in the blink of an eye out pops a gem, an intelligent being made of light with a gemstone at the core of their being.

She's not confused, not curious, and walks away like nothing happened. One moment she did not exist, and in the next she did. She is a Pearl (P), one of thousands of Pearls that come out of the very same wall of rock every single day. Her purpose was to serve her assigned master, and nothing more.

Much later, she would come to be known as Morvaridite, and would travel to Earth to raise a race of humans from the very ground she stood on to constitute one of the most powerful forces Homeworld had ever seen.

She walks up to the supervisor on scene, who is very very green.

    P: Hello there, I-
S: You are not to speak unless spoken to.

The Pearl's face turns pale and she stands embarrassed in silence, hands clasped crossing over each other, as the supervisor types on her screen.

S: From where did you emerge, Pearl?

    she looks around

P: From that one, in the orange band over there.
S: Thank you. Your identification is Facet 146 Cabochon 55A.

the supervisor takes out a small pen-like device and places it on the center of the new Pearl's gem. A small beep is heard, and the Pearl feels a slight pinch. She has begun to memorize her purpose and her identification.

S: Please follow the lighted signs to your waiting area.

The Pearl does so, and after a few long hallways filled with other pearls, she reaches a spacious lobby, where she stands in a line with other pearls.

The Pearl looks behind her to find another Pearl (P2), a yellow one with hair that comes to a point at the top.

P: How do you do, fellow Pearl?
    P2: I don't know. I feel that I'm going to greatly, though.
P: That sounds lovely. I hope I do greatly as well.

The other pearl smiles, and she smiles back. she has reached the front of the line now, where stands a tall reddish gem (R).

    R: Your identification please?
    P: I think it's Facet 146 Cabochon 55A...?
R: She looks judgmentally at the Pearl Hmm, you should learn to remember things more quickly. You shall be assigned to a Fire Agate from Sector 34. She is standing over there.

She points. The Pearl looks and sees a tall, well-built gem with flaming hair and orange-red skin. The Pearl looks down at herself, and realizes that she also has orange-red skin.

R: go on then, there's no time to waste. Move it.

The Pearl is startled, and moves quickly. She hears the red gem assign the friendly Yellow gem to someone named "Yellow Diamond." The Pearl knows, without ever hearing her name before, exactly who this Yellow Diamond is, and that she is very important and worthy of respect. "How wonderfully fortunate for her" she thinks to herself. "I hope Yellow Diamond is nice."

  • The Mysterious Prophet
Messenger: My Overseer, a stranger from an unknown land beseeches you. She says she holds an important prophecy.

Morvaridite looks over at Berryite, who looks back and shrugs

Morvaridite: Very well. Bring her to me.

soon after, the doors thrust open to reveal a short hooded figure, overshadowed by the two guards on either side of her

Prophet: My Overseer, thank you dearly for bringing me in with no appointment. I am truly gracious to you.

The voice is soft and reminds Morvaridite of someone she knew long ago

M: she raises her eyebrow Yes, well. State your name and purpose, stranger.

P: My name is inconceivable, but I come from a far away land and bring news of something dire. I hear rumors.

    M: Well, of what?

P: The Diamonds, my Overseer. They are approaching Earth at a breakneck pace from approximately 8 parsecs. I beg of you, my Overseer, you must take necessary precautions at once, lest Rikutsar be destroyed forever.

M: And why exactly should I believe you, strange Prophet? You are a gem, I presume. Only a gem would have such knowledge as this.

P: I will say only that we are closer than you think, yet have long grown apart. I swear on my heart that I tell you only the truth.

as she says this, the prophet holds one hand to her chest and the other hand, her right hand, out in front of her. She possesses a gem on this hand, Morvaridite notices, and it is blue with a triangular facet

M: smirks in amusement Well, strange gem Prophet, reveal to me your face. I am curious to know our relation.

P: Alas, my glorious Farogur, my face is too shocking to behold.
I must leave at once. I must attend to duties elsewhere. I beg of you one last time to heed my warning.

before Morvaridite can say anything, the Prophet turns and speeds out of the room

    M: looks at her Squire
Squire What does the record show, my Overseer?
M: Let the record show that a... raises eyebrow at the still open door mysterious prophet entered my throne room and delivered an important prophecy to me on this 63rd day of the Shining, year of establishment 1,289. Now, please bring in my next scheduled client.
