So I'm running for re-election once more. I have been in this region for almost as long as it has existed, and I have been here since before the first ever Storting. However, this isn't why I'm running. I'm running to continue and to finish what I set out to do last session, and what I set out to do this session.
Last session saw some large changes in the way the Underhusen was ran, with the dissolution of the Secretary of the Underhusen, and the establishment of the Officer of Information, unfortunately these changes and their potential was not fully realized.
This session has seen an amazing growth and unprecedented activity, my fellow Skrifa
@Syraj,
@Katie,
@North, and
@Crushita have done amazing jobs. While I will admit, I have not been the most active these last few weeks, that should change soon. While I would love to take all of the credit, this session has been a different one for me, as for once I was not proposing most of the legislation, and the success of this session belongs as much to my fellow Skrifa and Candidates
@Syraj,
@Katie,
@North, and to some extent
@Crushita.
This session, I saw the extension of what I had planned for with the Officer of Information, the choice of Katie was obviously a good choice. Syraj, as well, has surpassed my plans and expectations. I also got passed the Supremacy Amendment Act, which is coming to a vote this upcoming elections. I also fixed an error introduced during the last session in an amendment I had authored. I introduced the Criminal Code and an act to amend the current Citizenship Law, although these haven't really moved on.
This session, under my leadership as Speaker, the Underhusen has flourished and has grown to be more active than the past several session generally have been. The amount of citizens participating within the discussion of our laws have grown, and the general engagement has increased thanks to the dispatches that Katie has been putting together and managing. Additionally, there are many people running in this election, and I would
like to think that has to do with some of the advances this session has made, although that probably isn't the only reason.
Next Session, I plan on continuing what this session started, reviewing the Criminal Code, introducing a few other amendments, and talking an issue I have been wanting to tackle for a while now -- Judicial Procedure Reform. I plan on continuing our success and activity, and pushing for another active session. Additionally, I plan on running for Speaker of the Underhusen, and I plan to continue to lead the Underhusen. It is my goal, to expand the Offices more, which will go in lock-step with some of my goals. With respect to the current offices, if I am Speaker I do not expect to change the current Officer of Information as Katie has done a great job and will hopefully continue to do so.
Vote for Chanku if you want continued activity, continued growth, and continued leadership of the Underhusen.
