A WEREWOLF OF ICE AND FIRE
BOOK II: CASTLE BLACK, THE WALL
⠀Image credit: Feliche on DeviantArt Welcome to the Night's Watch! Here, you have the honor of defending the Realm against the wildling savages beyond the Wall. Most of you newcomers seem to be political criminals from King's Landing, for whatever reason. Well, no matter who you are! Here, you each have an equal second chance to make something out of your worthless lives!
By the way, we've also heard some strange reports of undead monsters—wights—appearing, killing off wildlings, and then vanishing into thin air. Probably all superstitious nonsense though. The Others, or White Walkers, or whatever you wanna call them, are long gone, if they ever even did exist. And even if these rumors somehow manage to be true, there's no way they could make it to this side of the Wall!
A Note on Spoilers
This game is set immediately prior to the events of
A Game of Thrones, or Season 1 of
Game of Thrones, in an alternate timeline. This should avoid most spoilers, though by necessity there are a few mostly minor spoilers form Book/Season 1 that may be revealed, including in the player roles list. I will either spoiler-tag or blank out (in color) any spoilers beyond that in my writing, and request that you do so as well, if you feel the need to post something involving a spoiler.
Roles
Black brothersOrdinary brothers of the Night's Watch.
The Others/White WalkersA race of icy eldritch beings that are now returning from legends. Have now somehow developed the ability to disguise themselves as humans during the day and infiltrate the Night's Watch, and have ambushed some recruits on their way north in order to achieve this. Can collectively kill one person every night, turning them into mindless wights. The wights help them kill more efficiently, allowing the Others to kill two people each night after killing three people total. They are in contact with each other.
SentriesThese stewards have been assigned sentry duty. They can each choose to protect one person every night, and are in contact with one another.
RangersThese rangers are stationed at Castle Black. A bit restless, and hearing about the situation, they have taken it upon themselves to find the Others and destroy them. They can each kill one person every four nights, but are not in contact with one another.
The wildling loverThis person came into contact with Mance Rayder, King-Beyond-the-Wall, on the way north. After learning about the Others’ infiltration of Castle Black, he has decided to help Mance maintain a disguise at Castle Black as a black brother. Luckily, nobody recognizes Mance, despite him being a deserter of Shadow Tower. The wildling lover can scan one person each night for their role. Although Mance has currently decided to aid the Night's Watch due to the direness of the situation, the wildling lover cannot contact anyone he scans, for Mance still faces the death penalty.
The Rules
1. The game begins once there are four players who have been sent to the Wall from King's Landing.
2. Roles will be assigned by a set but secret order. If multiple players arrive at the Wall simultaneously, those players will be assigned roles at random from the relevant portion of the secret list.
3. Day phases last for roughly 48 hours, and night phases last for roughly 24 hours. The game begins in a day phase.
4. During the day phase, players vote to accuse one person for the disappearances/deaths (and thus for being White Walkers). I would prefer if you vote using this format:
Accuse: taulover
The person with the plurality of votes shall be killed. In the event of a tie, one of the tied players will be selected at random.
5. Players are allowed to vote "no lynch." If this vote gains the plurality, then nobody is killed during that day phase.
6. During the night phase, the appropriate power roles can use their abilities by sending a message to me in the preexisting PM chain.
7. You are not allowed to reveal your role. If you reveal your role, you will immediately be removed from the game.
8. If you do not vote for two consecutive day phases, you will be lynched for inactivity and removed from the game.
9. Players who are at King's Landing should not post here.
10. Players who are dead should refrain from posting, with the exception of a final goodbye post (no spoiling the game, of course). If you do post when dead, please preface your post with this tag:
DEAD
11. The Night's Watch wins when all of the Others have been eliminated, and the Others win when all other (ha, see what I did there?) players have been eliminated.
