  • Are we about ready to stop being foolish? The moment the Others equal us in number, they will have a significant advantage.

"How do you think people responded to the prospect of imminent doom? They gobbled it up. They didn't fear their demise, they repackaged it. It can be enjoyed as video games, as TV shows, books, movies. The entire world wholeheartedly embraced the apocalypse and sprinted towards it with gleeful abandon. Meanwhile, Earth was crumbling all around you. You've got simultaneous epidemics of obesity and starvation. Explain that one. Bees and butterflies start to disappear. The glaciers melt. Algae blooms all around you. The coal mine canaries are dropping dead, and you won't take the hint! In every moment, there is the possibility of a better future. But you people won't believe it. And because you won't believe it, you won't do what is necessary to make it a reality. So you dwell on this terrible future, and you resign yourselves to it. For one reason, because that future doesn't ask anything of you today. So, yes, we saw the iceberg, we warned the Titanic. But you all just steered for it anyway, full steam ahead. Why? Because you want to sink. You gave up."

  • Jon Arryn walked up to Loras Tyrell and stopped. "You have been acting suspiciously lately. What has been the matter?" demanded the former Hand of the King.

"Well, all these deaths have been unnerving me," responded Ser Loras.

"Somehow, I do not think that is the case," came the response.

"I am worried about my brother Stannis," tried Loras.

"Somehow, I also do not think that that is the case," Arryn continued. By now, a crowd was gathering around the two.

"Do my brothers not agree with me?" said Arryn.

Varys' bird made a head-chop hand gesture. Shouts of agreement followed. Soon, the mob pushed the Knight of Flowers to the gallows, placed his head in the noose, and hanged him.

As Loras' body convulsed, the crowd cheered. It slowed and became limp.

"Wait!" Stannis yelled. "The body is still moving!" In fact, the face was morphing, losing the form of the Tyrell knight.

Having learned of the threat of the Other, many of the crows had armed themselves with bits and pieces of dragonglass. Now, the White Walker's body began to be impaled by many dozens of fragments of that rock. The Other hissed and screamed, and was no more.

A White Walker disguised as Loras Tyrell, a.k.a. Red Mones, has been voted off and lynched.

Red Mones was the last Other, and so the game ends in a victory for the Night's Watch!

The rest of the surviving players, all ordinary black brothers, are the surviving victors.

Additionally, as a recap, here is an archive of all the votes and night actions from this game, which I hope that you will enjoy.

Also, now that the games are over, I'd like to share with you all a copy of the spreadsheet I used to plan and organize the two games, including manually operated clocks/schedules and master lists of roles (incorporating the order of their distribution).

  • Congratulations to the victors.

Incidentally, I'm amused that two sentries elected to protect me on separate nights, including Tau's comment of 'ironic' the night we had Sapphiron murdered.

  • Doc, you were a manipulative bastard. That's a compliment.

Sapphiron probably suspected me the moment he died in this game. I was not sure how I was gonna get out of that one.  :))

No wonder Gerrick didn't suspect me. You actually should have played it so you at least considered all the things making me suspicious, Gerrick. The moment you didn't vote for me, I had you placed as some sort of seer.

  • Way to go, guys! And good game, Others.

Yeah, l was hoping the omission of my suspicion of you, Laurentus, would make it obvious to you that I was a seer. And I hoped the Others would not think as much of it, but I was unfortunately wrong.

Ah well, we still won. Though I was almost afraid there was still another Other after Red Mones. :P

Thanks for the game, everyone who took part!

I wonder if the game would have gone differently had I voted Red instead of North.  The voting and action spreadsheets were fun to read.

Thanks taulover for hosting this game.  It appears to have turned out well and I can tell you worked hard on it.
