Wintreath Underhusen Election
Nominate and Stand for Election!

Here you may nominate someone for or stand for election to the next term of the Underhusen. As stated in the Fundamental Laws only Citizens of Wintreath can be nominated for or stand for elections. Once you have stood for election, you may begin campaigning by creating a topic in this forum. Elections will begin on 1 December 2017.

I stand, as I rarely do

I stand. I know I haven’t been active lately, but I will at least be active in the Underhusen area if elected.

I don't stand (sit?) as I always do
since I don't want to be like that one person whose name I forgot who kept trying and voting for himself while not putting any actual effort into it, I don't think I should treat the Underhouse as a joke like that, but haven't yet done the research into how it works yet, and don't expect to have time for it in December anyway, and usually at least or exactly five other qualified people who have been here longer stand anyway and I shouldn't deny them if even I don't believe I should be nominated over them.

Aw, not wanting to be nominated just makes me think you're even more qualified. "Great [people] do not seek power; it is thrust upon them."

I decline to stand. I want to work on the Underhusen Code Of Conduct Proposal as a Citizen for now.

I second this, although not purely for that listed reason, amusingly ironic as it is (that's like...30% of it). The rest is genuine belief that it'd be good for the UH to get a new bunch of people in it.
Just to be clear, this is not because the last batch did a bad job (which is, shockingly to me, totally not the case despite my usual antipathy for it, because for the first time I feel like the UH did a pretty bang-up job, what with all the legislation it's actively pursued. I still think the institution as a whole is a bit pointless - but that's a big step down from completely pointless).

But since I'm praising the UH for the good job it did, I'd be remiss to not nominate the major driving force behind it, @taulover.
@Pengu too, but I'm unclear on his activity. Feels markedly less than before.
Also, if @Crushita still wants to tear down the UH, I'll nominate him to do that, because dammit I still think it's a bit pointless.

How long does this phase last again?
I see taulover and Mathyland volunteering again, but with North not doing the same and Pengu and Laurentus seemingly being inactive, looks like there may be 3 open spots. I thought it would be pointless to try myself earlier on the assumption that most if not all of them would have stood by now, but it looks like if I stood now, I'd actually be one of the top 5 qualified for it. By default really, so not saying much, but still, if they don't show up and nobody like Doc or Elbbsas wants to stand, then suddenly it doesn't seem like a bad idea to get serious and actually try this.

Nominations run through the end of November, with elections starting on December 1.

Elb's listed some good reasons for her not to run (which is unfortunate, because also someone I'd nominate if her reasons for bowing out of the delegacy election weren't equally as valid for the Underhusen). There's always next time.

As for me - god, no, I'm grossly underqualified, by vice of indolence, general sloth, and grotesque apathy.
I know it's usually by virtue of, but come on, none of those would be considered virtues.

Not to mention I still think that you're a qualified candidate regardless of the competition.
also sneakily since you seem to always be worried that people will sideline you - what better way to confirm that's not the case than by being ELECTED BY POPULAR VOTE

EDIT: But hey, if there aren't enough candidates, I'll ironically campaign as Donald Trump again.
I won't actually be standing. Or running. But hell if I won't campaign for the shiggles.

I'm not running for re-election. I've been in the UH for a long time and, honestly, I doubt that I could win re-election.
