Hello everyone! This is just an idea that the UH is mulling over, a sort of UH Medal of Honor that the UH can give to outstanding citizens. Does everyone have any thoughts?

Yeah, I'm gonna echo Pengu's question: how is this different from the Wintreath Commendation?

First, Wintreath Commendations can be issued by the Storting. This would be issued by the UH. Second, Wintreath Commendations (If I recall correctly) do not come with a badge. Third, this is exclusively for citizens of Wintreath, not just Nationstates like Commendations are. Last, Wintreath Commendations are, as far as I can tell, an award given on behalf of the region and the Monarch. This would be given on behalf of the region and the UH.

Personally, I also feel like Commendations are rarely given, as well they should since they should be given out when you really go above and beyond the call of duty. I feel like this would be a less prestigious award, still prestigious, yes, but think of it as the Bronze Star to the Commendation's Silver Star and to being made a Paragon's Medal of Honor (Ironic, I know).

Slight correction: they do come with a badge, one just hasn't been made as of yet.

And I believe they're Wintreath-centric.

Judging by the language of Act, it says NationStates, not Wintreath.

Ah, my mistake.  You're correct on that one.

I understand and respect the context, but it's essentially an award identical to the Commendation in context, but just different in how it's given and it's more exclusive as to who can get it.

I'll also add that wouldn't badges already serve the purpose of a bronze to a Commendation's silver and Paragon's gold? You're getting awarded for the little things you do, and don't forget that the types of badges have barely been dented.  There's still many more that could pop up for the more accomplishments we think of.

I personally feel like there is a place for an award like this, an award by the UH to compliment Commendations and Paragon status, especially since, I'll be honest, I forgot Commendations existed and cannot name any recipients off the top of my head.

Myself and Weiss both have Commendations, and mine at the least was brought forth at the UH's request.

And I could not remember you receiving it. Perhaps we should revise the original act, put in tau's suggestion and maybe add a bit more pizzazz, like Commendations getting a topic in announcements written by the guy who put forward the original legislation?

I'd prefer it just to be an announcement, not specifying the part of the forum, since Wintermoot (as Founder) gets to do whatever he wants with the forums (constitutionally).
