Hey, everyone. Is there any interest in playing either Diplomacy or poker this weekend as a game night? The schedule currently says poker on Friday ~6pm ET and Diplomacy on Saturday ~4pm, but those were just placeholders. We can change them to get the most number of people.
If we did, we'd use
vDiplomacy and
Bluff Avenue, respectively.
Diplomacy is sort of like a hardcore Risk. If anyone is interested, they can check out
the first Wintreath Diplomacy game we had back in the beginning of the year. In that game, however, I think we had phases last 2 days, so the whole game lasted about 2 1/2 months, but seeing as how we want to get a game in one night, we could have as short as 5 minute phases, so the game would probably take 1-4 hours. With all the different
map variants there are, we can have any number of people. And the good part is that anyone can quit if they have to leave -- their country will go into "civil unrest", meaning their units just go into defense mode, so it wouldn't end the game or anything (and it might even cause some interesting turn of events).
We've never played poker as a region, so I'm not sure how much interest there is in the first place, but I thought it's worth a mention. It's of course played with fake money, and if you go bust, then you can just refill your pockets and keep playing. The winner would be whomever has the most money at the end of the night.
And if there isn't any interest, but people want a crack at another game, that's fine, too. Just post below.
