Alright, let's figure this shit out. I'm tired of the RMB being so polluted by all the nonsense about maps. So, we're coming here to try and sort this out.

First order of business: Earth map, or not Earth map? I'm leaning heavily in favor of NOT Earth map.

As I said earlier, that would be way too much land, unbroken by rivers or mountains or anything. It would be weird.

But yeah non-Earth or a messed up projection would be fantastic. The issue is finding a good non-Earth map.

After everything on the RMB, despite my preference for an earth map I'll take a non-Earth simply to avoid people taking territory based on preexisting notions.

This map looks spicy. Lots of continental land, lots of islands, interesting seas, etc.

I like it. But now I suppose I'll have to re-rewrite my history. Ugh.

I quite like a non-earth map, avoids a lot of the landgrabbing problems we had before... Oh and it means I can make my own culture and religion instead of using earth ones! So I'll probably be using some of my work on Mithra that I've done here: http://wintreath.com/forums/index.php?topic=4350.0

Are you just fundamentally misunderstanding this? There would be no Germany. Your request is frankly either impossible or very easy to fulfill. The former in a realistic sense where it originated from a very particular set of circumstances which has an infinitesimally minute chance of being perfectly replicated; the latter in the Civ V sense of 'you'll be happy wherever and geography is unimportant'.

I couldn't handle it. I left my phone for five hours and came back to over twenty pages of "worldbuilding" that involved very questionable views of history, threatened player wars, and heavily implied genocide of RL ethnic groups. This was the only solution.
