Who uses it and what has been your experience with it?

For me, I just uninstalled it this week for the second time. I understand that it's a hookup app and I don't expect to start a great friendship or find a boyfriend on there, but in months total of having it I only had decent conversations with three people and even then they didn't last very long. In one case a person messaged me and we talked for awhile, but then he stopped replying back as soon as I told him I didn't drink. In one case I discovered a guy I'd known irl that had told me he had no interest in sex in general trying to hook up with guys, lol.

I installed it to begin with to see that there are other LGBTQ people in my area...we don't have much around here, and most of the other sites have few people from here on them. Instead, it reminded me of how creepy and vain people can be.

I had it back when I was single. But it was never any use to me. No one under the age of 60 ever talked to me so it was kinda like an act of masochism to turn it on. Nowadays I'll download it when visiting a new area to stop out the landscape.

Most of the people who messaged me were over 50, but I just thought something about me attracted older men for some reason.

Yes, but I stopped using Grindr and all similar apps. It was consuming my mind and time, as well as making one feel like a merchandise on constant need of advertising. What about you?

And... to be honest, I am tired of hooking ups with random guys. I guess a relationship would be nice now. And Grindr does not bring that, I suppose. 

I think what I'd be most into right now is friends with benefits...people you're not with specifically for sex, but if you both happen to be in the mood then it's a fun thing that makes the bond even better. As I've said before on the forum, I'm very picky when it comes to a potential mate, and I'm not into casual sex with strangers at all, but this...is nice. An intimate thing with someone you already like.

But in my experience it's hard to find something like that...you have to get close as friends first, develop a bond with them, and then they have to be open to that too. But there's just something about it that enhances the most satisfying friendships.

Grindr wasn't a good experience for me. I don't fit well into any particular niche. I'm not in great shape but I'm not a bear. I'm somewhere in between and so I got ignored a lot. It was a bad time for my self esteem.

As far as hookups go, not really into them anymore. I have a great bf who is a major influence on that. We'll occasionally have a 3some if we find the right person but we're kinda picky. I like to get to know someone before anything happens.
