Actually, we have a private adult area here...you have to be here three months, have 150 posts, and apply for access just so can get to know you before we let you in, but if you have interests in that area it might be worth looking into in a few months.

So is there a thriving gay community on Brazil? My father actually recently moved there to be with his, no wife. The only time I really talked to her she found out I was gay, squeezed with joy and told me I had to come visit because, "all the boys are gay!"

But I was also watching the Gaycation series about lgbtq culture in other countries and they said anti-gay violence is rather prevalent.

Yes, most Brazilian boys are sort of bissexual. Those who are not gay, I mean.
As I was telling Wintermoot, gay violence is prevalent in some regions, but it is mostly directed at sex (trans) workers. I have never experienced it.

don't be sorry dear. I appreciate the sentiment but it's not a big deal. My parents were miserable together and are happy apart. And I may visit him if I ever have the money.

Ha! Well, yes. Let me ask you a question not relating to the subject. Do I receive an alert message every time someone posts on a thread I have previously posted, or do they have always to quote me, in order to send the alert?

You get a notification when someone quotes you...the thinking is that for some of the larger topics, people might get annoyed if they're constantly pinged for posts that don't involve them.

To add on to that: you can also follow threads by clicking the link on the top right corner, if you want. And if you don't want PM notifications, that can be disabled in the user settings as well.
