Ooh humans being OP?  That's a really cool concept actually!

HFY in general is a fairly refreshing spot in the bleakness of mainstream sci-fi. I highly recommend reading the Jenkinsverse, and its main series, The Deathworlders, in particular; it's just good writing.

I like the idea of a new hostile species attacking the old crew and forcing them to take refuge on a nearby habitable planet where only some of the crew survived (players from the old RP who want their characters to have survived). This way, people who didn't want to give up their old characters don't have to. They'll just have to do with their new characters until that point comes.

That seems quite reasonable.  But they'd probably have been stranded there for like 15-20 years probably, in the event that we're deploying a new starship from Wintreath.

I know it's a long time to survive cut off from society, and it'll have some psychological effects on the survivors with PTSD as a possibility. But it's a good option in my opinion.

Oh sorry.  Thought it was a joke, because early on the fact that there was stasis tech was a big deal in the RP.  I guess I assumed that was common knowledge

Yeah, I probably could've phrased it better.

I highly doubt that they'd be able to place themselves in stasis unless that technology survived the crash landing. And even then they'd still need someone or something to protect them while they slept.

Yeah, definitely true.  I was just talking along humour lines.  Realistically, nah, probably no sort of stasis stuff, as unfortunate as that may be for plot expediency :/

It really depends on the technology they have. Many stories that I've read have stasis pods as the norm, given that rescue in deep space could take an indefinitely long time.

Can't wait for this Next Generation of our space expeditions. I like the possibility of meeting some of our old characters, and finding what happened to Wintreath's first attempt. Also, I wonder what happened to the old captain...
