I'd say it's more advanced simply by virtue of technological progress, but unlike the first ship, it isn't top-of-the-line because of rushed production.

Oooh, I like the idea of it not being top of the line. Makes my role as Chief Engineer so much more exciting, as systems will need monitoring and we could have possible system failures from time to time.

Since it's prolly not going to be top of the line... Perhaps the jump drive or what we've used to decided to use in this universe should malfunction and we should be thrown hundreds of thousands of light years beyond our destination. (I totally did not steal this from Long Journey Home)

I'd like to keep us on course as much as possible...

Due to Robin's influence as our one of our past engineers, I believe we've settled on a warp drive, which (because it doesn't create wormholes/enter a hyperspace) can't do that anyway.

I was thinking that the ship was thrown together and dispatched as quickly as possible, and/or, taking Gerrick's idea into consideration, using existing ship parts to save money. So it's the best that Wintreath could do, given the time and money given.

Rickety ship with mismatched parts? Hehehe...

Do we have just about all the details worked out?

@BraveSirRobin Do you have a plan for the plot of the RP? Because I think we have just about all the technical details worked out.

Well I figure that we'll be a new ship dispatched from Wintreath, rushed out of spacedock (think USS Columbia in ENT or something like that) in order to figure out what happened to the old ship.  Or we could go next generation route, and just be a new ship about 40 years later with cooler stuff, but I'm not sure which people would prefer more

Well if our mission is first to save the old crew, then the former option would probably be better.

Can we not have the former followed by the mission of the latter once our first mission is complete?

I think that you're suggestion is more than reasonable, @Aragonn .  I'm all for it, provided that people aren't opposed to it! 

We should get this ball rolling then. Create a sign-up thread for people to join and create their characters.
