We need something rad to replace the rad RPs that we've lost.  Aka: we need some combination of Union and Potatoe.

Any ideas?  Suggestions?  I think some of the problems with the two were:  We needed some way to incorporate new people into the RP.  People couldn't join after the beginning, and if anyone knows Markov models, absorbing boundaries are pretty unavoidable when they exist. 

But more seriously, we need some sort of Nation RP that people can join, and seems totally rad.  Maybe Cold War?  Maybe WWI or WWII?  (WWII would give us the most fun new tech-y stuff).  So what should we do? 

Anything that I neglected to mention?  Other thoughts?  Other concerns?  Other others? 

I would be all for WWII era technology, as that's what I'm most familiar with besides WH40K technology.

Yeah I think WWII would be about the tech level.  Anyone else want to comment/brainstorm?  @taulover @xXTheHydraXx

WWII seems nice. We haven't done any RP's focusing around that tech era (although "The Potato Who Would Be King" was supposed to be progressive based on scientific advancement) so it'll be a nice shift in pace.

I'm all for it, but I think we need to lay down some ground rules so as to not so amazingly tip things towards one side. One thing I noticed was that people would claim, like, half a continent in Wintreath Union and make themselves so overpowered any fight would be unbalanced.

We also need to agree on a map to use.

I have a bunch of ideas, none of which are for a nation's RP. I'll give it a shot anyways.

How about a tribal RP? Chiefs of an Arabia/Iraq/Afghanistan, Africa, Southeast Asia or Pre-Columbian America analogue could engage each other.

We tried one, though it wasn't exactly political, and it never really took off.

Yeah the thing is the things that really have shot off as roleplays, at least for a bit, are the large sort of nation roleplays, with the sole massive exception being Space Expeditions...

I am in agreement with either a WWII or perhaps a colonial era, but my main question would be how is it played, actual war or the main politics behind it, and would we be using current Nations or making new ones?

That's a really good idea as well!  That's probably what we would do to get the ball rolling.  Plus beginning with a global depression is always a fun thing
