  • So, I'm a fan of Drag as a performance art and as recreation. I was wondering get if anyone else is a fan and would like to discuss it. Makeup tips, RuPaul, basically anything.

  • I am not a drag queen, just a transexual, but I know a lot about makeup if you have any questions. The requirements of just being a girl are a bit different than a drag queen, but I do know a bit.

  • So do you have a prefered  brand of makeup? Right now I'm using a lot of Nyx and Two Faced products but I can't find a company with a good vibrant eyeshadow pallete. Everything is dark and "smokey eyes" these days.

I use a broad variety of brands, .. a different one for each product.

I use this as a perfecting base: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PBLH3Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I use this a base layer:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012C4GPK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use this for contouring, it's a neat little palette, you can use it for eye shadow too.. it's all flesh tones though.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HWFBYUG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
When I'm getting a little bit fancier with eye shadow, I use this:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006RILXKA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For blush I just use Maybelline.. I have a nice blending sponge made by Reale.

This is a nice eye liner that I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FZIWZW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As you can see I'm going for a pretty natural look, I don't use bright colors and stuff. I'll probably try to experiment more when I feel like I've mastered my current approach.

  • That looks like a pretty good set up. I'll have to check it out. Especially the contouring. That's an area where I need a lot of work. I have a hard time getting the definition I'd like. Also, I find that I have a hard time getting my brows glued down enough to properly get that area covered. I was looking at the Moondust Pallete by urban decay for eyeshadow but I just cant justify spending 50 dollars on it. I spent 31 on my base foundation(dermablend) and almost cryed lol.

  • I'm going to wait for the show to begin. They all look amazing so for me it's gonna be a personality thing. I will admit, it's a pipe dream for me to someday get on RPDR. *lesigh*

  • I've thought about it but its rather unlikely with me being Canadian (I could get a visa, but even then, not like a Canadian will ever be crowned America's next drag superstar)

  • You totally could! RPDR is and international sensation. And it would be great to have a neighbor of the north on the show I think. So are you a performer?

  • Um, would Traps/Trapping be an appropriate topic to discuss here? I'm unsure of the exact differences between the two, but I do know that there seem to be some differences.

  • The best thing I can explain is that a Trap is generally a Guy that looks like, and can be mistaken for a male. From an Urban Dictionary Definition:
    Quote
A man who dresses like a woman and is somewhat feminine in appearance. Could almost be mistaken for a woman until you are in the bedroom with one.

Trapping is merely the 'verb' form of that word, but generally isn't used often it seems.

Could certainly fall under this heading I suppose. I used to do something similar when I was younger. Myself and my roommate used to go about town dressed as the opposite genders. We were rather convincing and it was always interesting to watch peoples faces as they slowly figured it out.

  • I personally don't like trapping much because it gets erroneously applied to me.. I mean, I completely look like, act like and sound like a girl but I do currently possess a penis, but I'm not "trapping" anyone. Some guys act like I'm going out of my way to deceive them, when the opposite is true.  :o

  • I was hyped for season 9 today..... Only to have the wrong airtime listed. I missed it guys, I missed RuPaul's Drag Race.

You may burn me at the stake for this heresy.

    End of Time

I remember there in the dawn,
When the suns rose and rose,
    That never could I know,
A sight more grand than this.

Now I sit here in the dusk,
While the suns die and die,
That never will I see a sight more sad,
    Or a sight more beautiful.
