So as many of you know, there have been many attempts, and i want to try once more, to pass a banking system in Wintreath.
The problem is, where does the money (digital money, you would not be charged real life money to use the system) get used?
I believe that we can develop effective money sinks on the forums to take up money, examples of which can be a cost to post topics. You would require a certain amount of points to post a topic which would be deducted from your account. Another sink could be a market where people can post art, music and other services can be purchased at the cost of money.
How would you get money?
Everyone would start off with a randomized sum of money, ranging from 1000-9000 (may change based on the size of the economy we want) moneybucks. Extra money could be added to your account through donations.
That's great but theoretically, the economy would run out of money as it costs money to post which is the main point of forums, how do you plan on tackling that?
The poster of a topic would receive points based on the number of users who choose to interact with the post, more activity on the topic more points you get. The system would be based on how many users get involved not on number of posts. So lets say if 3 people talk on your topic you get 50 points. This system would promote conversation but it would limit abuse. Laws would be passed disallowing users from abusing the system by having multiple accounts.
Taxes would also be a way of regulating the economy, preventing users from amassing large sums of money and not needing to participate. We would also introduce fines based on laws which target how much money you have, charging you a percent of your bank size or a fixed sum for committing a crime. This is another sink and adds a new element to wintreath. In terms of regulation, the Underhusen would set the rates of fines based on groups and your wallet size. This adds a new element to the Underhusen which would also regulate inflation so that users who do not want to participate in the bank system are able to participate in the forums without too much trouble.
This is my main goal as an elected official creating and implementing the system but more immediately setting up laws to prepare for its implementation.
I hope this answered your question
