1) Who are you and what region do you represent?

I am Menekar and I represent the Renegade Islands Alliance

2) Are you replacing an ambassador from this region? If so, who?

Yes, I am replacing Kergulean I believe. It's a bit jumbled here, as we are doing a bit of a reboot to our Ministry of State. 

3) Does your region already have relations with us, or are you requesting an embassy as well?

We already have relations.

Thank your for your kind welcomes! I am excited to improve our regions relations, and I cannot wait for all of the great experiences and interactions this relationship will create. I will be posting our newest Foreign Update soon to our consulate.

Just posted it! Also, thank you for that. This is, I'll admit, my first time being an ambassador, so help is always welcome:D. I just wanted to mention also that I was given the choice between multiple regions, and when I looked up yours I knew immediately I wanted to be the ambassador here. The fact that you were talking about how you were celebrating LGBT days, and the wonderful Nordic Midieval like setting were amazing. I can't wait to learn more about this great community.

I'm sure that you will make a great ambassador...I think the job is important, serving as a link between two communities, but the actual work tends to be boring and tedious unless you have an interest in your assigned region. I'm glad that you're interested in ours...it's an honour to know that out of all the regions you could have gone to that you chose ours. I like to think that we're a region unlike any other, though of course I'm biased. I hope that we're everything that you hope that we'll be.

You mentioned our LGBT celebration...out of curiosity, are you LGBT yourself?

Im sure this assignment wont be boring. You're region is immensely interesting, and I can't wait to learn more about it. I am in fact LGBT, gay specifically.

Then it sounds like you've come to the right place! I personally can be into anyone if they have the right traits. I guess people call that pansexual, though I don't like labels. We do have a great LGBTQ+ community though...hopefully while your here you'll meet some of the other people that are part of it.

That's great! Labels can be tricky, but I don't care much about labels either. It's more about who you are. I can't wait to meet them!

I know over the course of my life my identity has changed a few times...from initially straight to bi to gay to bi and now to whatever, so I don't really regard the labels anymore. lol, but enough about me...tell us some more about yourself!

If interesting means men and supernatural creatures than yes .

I also went through the same kind of development, thinking I was straight, then bi, and now gay. I understand the use of labels to help people understand what they are and to normalize and categorize things. But as we learn about sexuality, the complexity and spectrum makes it very hard to make effective labels and such.

It's fun to learn about other people. Part of my job (and what I want to do) here is to get to know the region, its people, and interact with them. But if you insist . I'm 16. I'm pretty new to NS, and joined the RIA right off the bat. I'm super interested in politics, history, and government. I love your midieval like theme, as well as the nordic touch to it. There isn't a whole lot more about me really. Is there anything in particular you wanted to know?

I agree...sexuality is very complex, and I think it's more fluid than people realize. I imagine it's like a scale between completely straight and gay...if you removed social influences, denial, etc very few people if anyone would be completely straight or gay. Most would be in the middle...perhaps closer to one side to the other, but still somewhere in the middle. In my experience and from what I've read a lot of other people say, it just takes one special person to give people the opportunity to explore and realize these things...

There wasn't anything particular I wanted to know, I just wanted to meet you and learn a bit more about you...I know that you're here as an ambassador from another region, but I think you'll fit in great here. Was there anything you wanted to ask me? Any areas that interested you here on the forums you would like to know more about?

I believe it is the Kinsey scale that is the most famous version of the kind of thing you're referring to. His idea was that most people feel somewhere inbetween the two opposites, even if it was only slightly inside. That is my view as well, and as you said I think that without social pressures or norms that would become much more obvious. I actually know a couple made up of two women. One of them is a lesbian and has been her whole life. The other believed herself to be straight here whole life, was married to a man, and the only women she has ever been attracted to is her now wife. It's a very interesting experience, and it is some great proof to me of how different and fluid sexuality is.

When it comes to the region, I believe I said before that one of my greatest interests is politics and government. I've done some research into your constitution and regional government, but do you think you could give a bit of an explanation on it? It fascinates me. On top of that, you mentioned the regions lgbt diversity. Could you talk a bit more about that? Thank you!:D

I remember reading a few months back that they had done seperate studies over time in the UK...one a few years back and one this year, and they found that the number of people who had had same-sex encounters had gone up by something like 5-10%. But what made it fascinating is that the proportion of people who identified as gay stayed the same...the growth was entirely from people who had encounters with both sexes. And I think you'll see a lot more of that as the entire thing becomes more normalized...and that's what scares the right to death when it comes to the 'culture wars'.

Is there anything specific you want to know? Broadly, I don't know if I can say much about our diversity...I suppose me being bi/pan helped, and a lot of LGBT and friendly people came over to Wintreath when we started getting it going...since then, we've attracted a lot of people in that area, I suppose just from being friendly and open about it. It's not like we planned on it happening or made it a goal when we started the region, but I'm glad that it did.
