A company that commissions a low production-quality selfie that then gets reposted across tumblr, Pinterest, and various porn sites, many of which attribute the image to other locations than Australia, even making it to the first page for "hot guys selfies" on Google?

I'm with Daws on this.  I'm always a bit skeptical especially when it feels like we're being faked out.  Rather than getting defensive about it, you could always just post another picture or two and quiet the skeptics.

But when you post a pic that was literally found with an easy google-image search on some random "hot guys" pinterest and claim that it's you, then obviously we're going to be skeptical.  It doesn't matter if it was posted years ago.  For all any of us know, you could have deliberately said it was an old picture so that you'd be covered when you were questioned.

A date of a pic matching the "few years old" statement doesn't make it line up in a perfect combo.

I'm very aware of this. I just wanted to see how deep the skepticism ran. I new you wouldn't probably believe it. I ran a search on it before I put it up so I'm not that surprised. I just wanted to whet the appetite of intrigue in an innocent way.

You'll find it runs very deep, since even now I'm skeptical about your sudden about-face statement.  To me it comes off more as a "crap, I can't fake it anymore.  Oh well, better play it cool and pretend this was all a test."

It doesn't hurt to, you know, just admit that you legimately thought we'd fall for it and apologize for trying to fake us out rather than trying play it off.

But you know, apology accepted.  You'll find that Wintreath is full of many different types of people, so it won't hurt if you're truthful about yourself as well.  The last thing you want to do is start off your time on Wintreath with a foundation of lies.

After all, if you're willing to lie about as something simple as a picture with claim to being you...how can we trust you to be honest in one of those government jobs that you were asking about?
