We need leadership in Wintreath that will unlock the potential of this great region, we need someone that can win the job, someone who is worth considering doing the job.

If you vote libertarin for Underhusen I will unlock the potential and I will be worth doing the job.

 Now I know some people do not support right now but whatever happens in this election I will keep on supporting you and whoever becomes Underhusen.

What Laurentus was saying is that all of your threads could have been kept to one campaign thread. In a traditional forum like this one, any post to a thread will bump it back to the top, so there is no need to repeatedly create new threads. Instead, creating new threads is counterproductive because it clutters up the subforum and makes things less organized.

Actually, I find it intriguing in a way.  Reminds me of candidates in presidential US elections that get buttloads of screen time to where it feels like I'm seeing them practically everywhere.

You know, like this election, with the two remaining candidates who were pretty much front and center campaigning and being talked about everywhere before they were even the final candidates.

It's clutter, sure.  But it's also politics.

Pengu, I think this is the mindset of most Wintreans, and why campaigning like this would make a candidate less likely to succeed. As I've said before, I'm glad Wintreath isn't every political, and I'd prefer to keep it that way.

This isn't politics, it's a nuisance. He's basically spamming the electoral subforum.

I never said that I enjoyed politics, otherwise I'd be running myself.    I'm just saying that what he's doing isn't something unheard of in a political sense.

And Ashton, yes, it's politics.  In real life politics, jobs can donate to specific candidates without people even realizing, flyers for candidates appear in your face practically anywhere, again...between political debates, campaign ads, guest appearances on shows/news, and the like...candidates can be all over television/radio/newspapers if they buy enough screen time.

Of course it's a nuisance...but politics in general are just that.  Rather than being a truly honest approach as to deciding the best candidate, it becomes an annoying spectacle of voting for the person that has the most screen time.

I was referring mainly to American politics, yes.  Although this discussion has given me an interesting idea.

In future elections, why not have a system to where candidates can buy certain things?  When we get an actual currency it could be from their own pockets, but until then it could be a set amount (like the arena) that they'd have to use wisely.  They could pay for campaign avatars and signatures to let people use, campaign videos, threads outside of their main campaign one, and the like.  It'd make things a bit more interesting and save on the clogging since, in the pre-currency system, they'd only be able to afford a small few.

This isn't American politics, this is an Underhusen election in Wintreath. The "increased screen time" stops being politics and starts being a nuisance when it doesn't work and instead has the opposite of the intended effect.

As I've said, the only reason why I'm running is that I have confidence that Wintreath government is largely apolitical. Do we really want to change that?

I would much prefer restricting campaigning to their main thread, period. Cleans up the clutter entirely, and doesn't incentivize playing at politics when it isn't necessary at all. As I said earlier, posting on any thread bumps it back to the top, which means you would get the same "screen time" by posting on your main campaign thread anyway, without annoying the electorate.

Look I just want to say this I am not spamming I am just campaigning you have to campaign to earn people votes that is what I was trying to do, I will apologize to the people that they thought I was spamming.

But I have to say this was a fun ride running for Underhusen I really enjoyed campaigning this was a great fun experience I've had, but the main problem that people were telling was I just join this region and they need to get to know me better and I couldn't agree more after this election I will get to know the people of Wintreath better.
