As fun as Spyfall is, I decided a while ago that I'd like to try and make it even better.  How can an already awesome game be improved, you ask? By adding locations and roles from your favorite books/movies/TV Shows/etc., of course!

So far, I've begun working on locations and roles for Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter versions of Spyfall, just to see how far I can get with each of them. If anyone else wants to work on any other themes, go right ahead! These (and A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones) are the only themes I'm really familiar enough with to run, but I'd love to see what someone else can come up with!

It'll be at least a month before the roles and locations will be ready for any of my chosen themes, and about that long before I have the time to organize a game. I'd really like some outside input in the meantime.  Would anyone else actually be interested in this? If so, which theme(s)? Should actual characters be included as roles, or should only generic roles be used? Feel free to answer these questions and share any other comments, questions, or concerns in this thread. 

Below are my lists of locations so far for each game; please suggest any ideas for locations and possible roles! (Ideally, the games should be simple enough that even someone only slightly familiar with the given theme can play.  Additionally, all of the themes I've chosen have a wiki, which should make things easier for less familiar players.)

I like the idea! My only concern would be that only people who were into the particular themes would be able to play in the themed games, but I'm sure there's enough people into the themes you listed to overcome that.

While I agree, it's more in the fact that those who know most about the lore will have the biggest advantage.

However, I feel like that can go for any specific theme...using the Festival's Spyfall as an example.  If one already knows the history deep enough, they'll have an advantage over those that don't...although there's no reason why others can't research.  But for actual lore regarding stories and not regarding places/historical context...it's a bit different since it's a bit more expansive.

Also, @Wintermoot , it appears I do not have mod powers over the Spyfall board.

It is possible that I might be able to host a game of Spyfall.  I would just have to think about it.  I would probably do something related to Command & Conquer but I am not sure how many people here understand C&C or have played more than just one game.

Yeah that probably wouldn't work, we need everyone to be able to know and be able to guess the location.

Maybe I could think of something else.  In that case someone else should probably host it then
