The main reason I don't want to go back that far into the past in terms of tech is that even trying to portray it will probably lead to some horrible badhistory. I mean, just look at our discussions about WW1 and WW1 tech, and that was only a century ago.

I'll give only if we can achieve repeating rifles, six shooters, hand cranked gatling guns, and ironclads.

Solution:  You can get Ironclads if you reach 400 tech. 

We can research it. We don't have to go for complete realism (uhm, hello, all our FT ones are pretty much impossible). We just need to get it close and have fun.  Oh, and that was in response to taulover, not BSR and Aragonn.

What's the point in having Scientific Advancement if there's nothing to advance to? And the research thing is just a pitiful way to "compromise" the ignoring of the SA stat.

I think by research, he meant "look things up for realism" not R&D research.

But still I want mah airships.

At this rate, I frankly don't care. I've seen this before: we're heading towards a unique RP death zone: the "We Couldn't Agree On The Nitty Gritty Specifics" zone. This is a really fun concept, so I don't want to see this suffer the fate it seems destined for.

Tell you what, I have a proposition. Let's have a vote: everyone list the options you are most comfortable with. We pick the one that has the most "I'm okay with this" votes wins. If there is a tie, one of us can flip a coin or do a dice roll. Does that sound good for everyone?

This isn't bad for me, really. It's not hard to imagine an RL scenario where the Iroquois could have reached those tech levels. As for everyone else? Ehh...

Remember that this isn't a single-POD ATL, but rather a completely different universe that just happens to have an identical globe.

I know, but it makes figuring out things a little bit easier, knowing I don't necessarily have to extrapolate the culture/cultural analogue into the world of newspapers, radios, and airplanes.

I'm just going to port my main nation (Empire of Science) into a Potatoeist society.
