To get things a bit more organized, I'm creating multiple threads for all aspects of the RP.

If we're doing the tech range from 18th century to WWII, we need to determine a system for it.

I think we're doing late 19th early 20th right?

Yeah, I've given it some more thought, and it might be a bit jarring to have such a wide range of tech levels. Starting it with tech where people had to take weeks to get anywhere, to having subsonic jets within a single lifetime might cause problems.

We're not going for total realism though.

Having that wide of a tech range would eventually get absolutely ridiculous, and I don't mean in a good way. As funny as it might be to read or watch, I personally would not enjoy being the guy pitting the USS Constitution against the USS Cleveland (CL-55). While a scenario that extreme is unlikely, I think narrowing our tech range somewhat would be a very good idea.

Ironically enough (and sort of in contrast with my comparison), the Constitution is still a commissioned vessel of the United States Navy, while the Cleveland was sold for scrap over fifty years ago.

I could do either, but I would like to know which before I found my nation.

I'm for 18th century tech.
